This is awful but I really need to do something for this girl LMAO college has been really killing my muse
Dread had been steadily pooling within the she-wolf's stomach since her arrival. Melisande was certain that the awful feeling had been before she and her packmates had set off to reach the designated point, it had been biding it's time, waiting to for its chance to fully grow when the two alphas would fight. It was no secret that she was terrified by the thought of Koda having to fight High Mountain's alpha - they had already lost one alpha, she truly wondered if Riverdale could handle losing another - whether he won or lost, there would be consequences regardless. If Koda did lose, then they faced being mocked by Altaire who would have defeated two of their alphas. If Riverdale won, Melisande highly doubted that High Mountain would ever forgive such a thing, they'd likely see it as a disgrace.
Rearing her head, Melisande kept a neutral face as the fight began, the only hint of the turmoil within her being the slight furrow of her brow. However, as another side of Koda seemed to come to light, the she-wolf's face started to twist in shock. That wasn't the alpha that she knew. Kind, considerate Koda who had sat with her and discussed their losses over the recent times. She realised that this was the darkness that her alpha had been referring to, the pent up anger that had been gradually building since his father's murder. She thought that she had been able to relate to his pain, she still felt an anger towards the world for losing her pups, but the look of hatred in Koda's eyes had left her speechless. Fearful almost. Thankfully, Llyr had sprung forwards to separate the pair, before any further damage could be done, but Melisande didn't doubt that the battle between the two alphas would ever be forgotten by either of them.
As Koda stepped forwards to speak, she managed to drag her eyes from Altaire's bloodied form to her alpha. Her expression had slipped back to a more passive one, but the dread she had felt before the start of the battle seemed to grow more. There was a strong sense of fear building steadily now. She was afraid that this would only make matters worse.
At least, for now, she and the others would be the bearer of good news for the pack.
