Description
Edit! Yep, another art update when i should really actually be doing art of him, but guess what?? thats right, i've found my style, finally B)
Edit! Updated his profile for the new Breim updates! Because of the Doctor rank now going poof, he has been switched to Healer, but is still very anti-magic/blessings and basically the same pon he was before ;>
Edit! Toned down his accent, because it's getting harder for me to make understandable x>
Eyyy! Guess who's maxed out their Healer rank??? That's right, it's ya boi, Ciel! He's now got a reputation as an 'excellent healer' across the herd according to the rank description, and he can now help with birthing foals. I'm looking for new regular patients for him, so shoot me a note if interested :>
He can also be available for one-time visits or, well, anything else medical, really ;>
He also treats patients indiscriminately no matter which side of the herd they're on [Umare or Kawaru], as long as they require his aid, and can provide payment.

Name: Ciel Spyre
Meaning: The name Ciel was bestowed upon him for his bright eye color, meaning "Sky Blue" in French in our world. Spyre originated from one of his ancestors, Splintpyre, who had gained the name from a triumph over a fire that broke out in a forest of splintered trees. Eventually, it was shortened as time passed. *cough*along with the bloodline's height *cough*

Voice: In Hireath, it would be known as a really funny way to speak, often coming across as unintelligent or informal. If it were to resemble something from our world, it would sound slightly British. This is a consequence both of a mixing of his parent's accents and catching on to his father's unique way of speaking. It is very expressive and hearty.
Religion & Culture:
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Ciel is strongly neutral toward herd's new traditions and the old, though leans slightly more towards the Umare ideals. However, he does not openly state this, as it's bad for business and he'd rather stay comfortable in the society that already is than for everything that's familiar to him to change. Despite openly despising magic, he flaunts his belief in the arcane god Argus whenever possible, giving off the aura of being overly patriotic. He is open to other opinions and thoughts, though only if he thinks they aren't a total airhead.
Patron God[s]: Argus
Goal[s]:
• To mend his divided herd
• To become a world-renowned Healer and travel to every herd
• To grow tall
• To find his brother
• To 'cure' Cecillia's blindness
Intimate Details:
Orientation: Unknowingly Bisexual- Thinks and claims he's heterosexual
Status: Virgin
Ability: Unsterilised, Fertile
Activity: Inactive
Preferences:
Small- He would like someone who is also smaller than average so he could look into their eyes without straining his neck as much.
Tall- Yep. Tall or small, with no in-between. He believes the figure of a horse is best shown when they tower over him- the same applies with himself, of course, the towering beast he is.
Donkey Ears- Ciel loves the way donkeys' ears stand upright and their unique build.
Somewhat Like Himself- What better person to get along with other than yourself?
But, if you don't fill the place with these preferences, don't fret. Not everyone sticks by their first preference.

Physical Appearance
Short Description: A small, earthy-brown pony stallion with a messy mane which is tied back by a strand of it.
Elaborate Description:
Ciel's mane is wild, messy, medium-length and all-round unkempt though he tries his best. The fringe usually covers his eyes, but never impairs his vision, as it still has gaps which allow him to see. Half his mane is cut 'short', and the rest is somewhat medium length, with a small tuft near his shoulders to tie it onto. The only bad thing to come out of this head hair is that it tickles his cheeks to the point of becoming extremely annoying, though not harmful. If you were to sweep back his mane, you'll be surprised to see two large, bright blue eyes staring right back at you, sparkling with anger that you even dare touch his mane instead of realising that you did him a favour. There's yet more hair tying his mane back, so that he does not accidentally eat it when it gets too close to his face. Another unmissable feature of his is his 'beard' of sorts.
Much like his thick mane, his fur is shaggy and points in all directions. It's bothersome to him in the summer because of the amount of sweat it forces him to generate, but nonetheless, he loves it. He says that it gives him a sort of 'rough' look; Something much needed because of how many horses take him for granted or taunt him because of his size. His frame is slightly petite and only very slightly overweight, but it's just mostly from eating a variety of foods- and often.
Frame: Slim, with a vaguely bigger belly and short legs.
Defining Features: Short legs, Large head, Rounded features, Big ears, Large eyes
Looks: The only turn-on here is 'cuteness' if your horse is into small, cute things. He is rather charming, though, depending on your horse.
Scent: Freshly-cut grass and earth. Sometimes, cologne.
Hooves: Almost black, hard, and slightly big.
Coat: A bit longer than short; Messy and points in all directions.
Personality
{Sarcastic | Intelligent/Curious | Insensitive | Sense of Justice | Dignified | Carefree | Overprotective | Natural Leader | Charismatic | Appreciative | Unpredictable | Glutton | Inappropriate | Overdramatic | Teasing | Competitive | Short-Tempered | "Tsundere"}
• "That's the best idea I've ever heard! Let's heal your third-degree burns with a bi' o' laughter, shall we?" •
Sarcastic
Ciel has a habit of conveying his point across to the equine he's speaking to by twisting it around. He figures that if they understand what he's trying to say, they're smart enough to accompany him for longer. He also uses sarcasm for humorous purposes.
• "Oi, who're you callin' daft? I'll have you know I'm one of those esteemed Healers!" •
Intelligent / Curious
His large head packs quite a lot of brains- hence why it's big. The fact is... it's just not filled yet. He can assess situations quickly and efficiently and almost always find an answer. From this trait, he's become quick at learning, helping him to memorise the things to help him become a Healer. He's horrible at observing, though. To this day he does some private research to try and fill his blank canvas mind.
• "What’re you cryin' for? It's not like you're bleedin' or anythin'... Oh." •
Insensitive
Ciel finds it hard to tell what others are feeling, and often needs to be told upfront or they drop enough hints so that he'll eventually realise. He's also oblivious to any pain they're feeling, which assists him in treating patients with horrible wounds without feeling anxious or sweaty. But it's the worst thing for deep conversations, which isn't good for his bonds.
• "Why would you even think about hurtin' somethin' as helpless as a foal?!" •
Sense of Justice
He does what he thinks is right even if it means bending the rules. He'll stand up for the weak in the name of justice, but tries not to do anything too drastic. He also doesn't like bending the rules, but he'll do it anyway- reluctantly. He knows when people deserve the things they have, and will voice his opinion if otherwise.
• "Good things come in small packages, you know."•
Dignified
Everywhere you see him he'll have his head held high. He's proud of his pony roots, and everything else about him, too. Despite all this, he doesn't think himself as more important than the rest of the herd. Merely a valuable asset.
•"Huh? Of course I care about things, but I enjoy my life, too." •
Carefree
Often you'll find him away from the herds, either travelling or just relaxing, as if he has not a care in the world. The truth is far from that, but even he doesn't know that. You can see this trait surface when he gives you that smile of his. But when a problem does arise, he'll probably take it upon himself to right it, which completely contradicts this.
• "Alright, gang. Time to teach 'im a lesson or two, eh?" •
Natural Leader
As is the nature of most horses, Ciel hopes to protect those he knows and loves- and those he doesn't. Despite his tough hide he has quite a soft interior and is a sucker for anyone who loyally follows his orders, even though he may assume the leadership role unofficially.
• "Wha's your name, li'l filly?" •
Charismatic
No matter what the situation, he'll probably have something to say. And, most of the time, it carries on to a wonderful conversation of not-so-carefully chosen words. He loves to talk and will talk often- to himself if there's none other to interact with.
• "You had better thank 'im for that. He went through a great deal of trouble to find it." •
Appreciative
He knows that nothing comes for free, and does his best to show gratitude towards those who make an effort to provide things that others couldn't live without. He even stops at no end to repay his buddies who have done something for him 'out of friendship', either to their amusement or displeasure.
• "Thats a great idea, I tell you what, let's do the complete opposite!" •
Unpredictable
Ciel prides himself in his unpredictability, as he very rarely runs into rewards, however, most of the time it's trouble. But, when he does get rewarded, it's better than average. It's also quite hard to read his body language or grasp what's running through his mind, but his close friends seem to have that under control. Mostly.
• "Would you like to come with me to the forest? I just can't shake my cravin' for some eggs." •
Glutton
Ciel LOVES to eat. He relishes the flavour, texture, smell and visuals that comes with consuming food- this is probably what led him to being a flexiterian. Grass seemed just too boring for him, I guess. Despite this, he'd be more than happy to share his half-eaten mouse with his closest friend if they were desperate and a second away from dying of starvation on an island full of horse-eating monsters. Nevertheless, it's not surprising he developed this trait due to wasting food being highly scorned in Breim. You can bet your behind that he's gotten quite a few fines for the irresponsible use of food.
• "Listen 'ere, colts... Which one o' you wants to help me trip over a giant stallion?!" •
Inappropriate
Most of the time, Ciel forgets that he's an adult. He often plays around and makes childish jokes, and often mutters dirty innuendos under his breath and into the ear of the closest horse. He'll also say something either uncalled for or completely unrelated.
• "B-bu'... I thought I was your buddy!" •
Overdramatic
Ciel tends to take things more to heart than most other horses, and therefore acts upon his emotions more... intensely. Whether the drama was intended for humorous purposes or completely unintentional, there's no denying this trait's existence in this little pony.
• "You've been beat at your own game! Beat! So beat that you could be compared to a beetroot!" •
Teasing
For the sake of humour, Ciel would do many things. One them may or may not hurt the other horse's feelings, but this one more often than not... does. It's not his fault he's insensitive- well, actually, it probably is.
• "... First one to finish eatin' wins!" •
Competitive
He can't help being competitive when he was literally raised with this habit. Every time his brother spoke a word, or even breathed, he would know that he was challenging his authority. Most of the time it wasn't a challenge, though his brother didn't mind when Ciel would get too reckless and go to extreme heights to best him... and fail.
• "You bastard! I told you not to sneeze on my dinner!" •
Short-Tempered
Those thick, angry-looking eyebrows aren't just for show. It doesn't take much to make him tick, though it entirely depends on what time of day it is. One thing's for sure- he's almost never peaceful. Happy, sure, but never at peace. Sometimes, he even gets so angry at himself being angry he gets angry.
• "Bugger off." •
"Tsundere"
Even if he acts like he doesn't care, he most probably does. Probably. Whether the topic be one that lights up a foal's face, or his arch nemesis just tripped over- he really does care about it... but he doesn't want them to know that. That would make them think he was a weak Healer, who'd probably smother his patients. And that's just uncomfortable for the patient- horses would stop coming to see him, and that would ultimately lead to his career downfall. Overdramatic, yes, but that's what he is.

In-Game History
Chapter I
Ciel was invited to join a small band of six other devout equine to trek to Argus' main temple deep within the Labyrinth, guided by Ozzer, in order to get some answers from Argus himself to all the questions buzzing around Breim as of late, including the sudden disappearance of the precious High King. He was late because he had a big meal that he simply could not leave. He spent the trip keeping a careful eye on Cecilia, as well as boasting about his doctoral skills. He showed off to Aremis the pegasus, insulted Ozzer's donkey ears, tried to one-up Semora, and misgendered Blaine, up until the tunnels began to collapse in on themselves. He was then split from the rest of his group- along with Blaine. Eventually, they found their way to safety, and afterward Ciel made himself promise to never go on spontaneous trips like that again.
Chapter II
Ciel went over that promise, and decided to make a trip to Nariah to witness the peace offering from Aodh to Breim. He set off to arrive much earlier than the celebrations were due to start so he could relish in the full nostalgia of the festival. However, he had a terrible start, as he had spent some money on some drinks at the bar because it was a special occasion, and upon finding out he hadn't enough money for the delicious pastries he saw earlier, spent the last of his money on more alcohol to drown out his newfound sorrows. He had just bumped into his friend Leonardo after drunkenly stumbling out of the bar, and so was very disoriented as the entire scene was engulfed in a piercing white light. The pygmy dragons were affected and wreaked havoc on both the Aodhian and Breimen attendees, and Ciel ended up scrambling for his life, now separated from Leonardo.
He somehow found Ozzer, and decided to let the donkey guide him out of a bad situation once again, grouping up with the others following him out of the chaos. It was hard running away from dragons whilst someone was having a seizure, and Ciel's medical knowledge was scrambled from intoxication. The Aodhians in the group showed so much courage, which Ciel begrudgingly admired, and thanks to their combined efforts everyone was able to make it to the palace, where many members of their group were able to get the medical attention they needed. Ciel, on the other hand, just sat around and thought about how he'd repay Ozzer in future for saving him twice.
Chapter III
Ah, yes. The Day of the Wisps. One of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring holidays to exist in the world of Hireath. Unfortunately, Ciel hates it. He finds the wisps, being magical beings, suspicious. So what did he do? Tried to scare the wisps away by speaking when silence is in order. He got many disapproving glares, but who can blame him? He just hated the wisps more than usual this time around because their blue hues reminded him of the blue dragonsfire from the previous incident, and he was angry at the Gods for letting the Aodhians do that to his brethren- whether the Aodhians meant it or not. Since the wisps are supposedly the Gods' messengers, he wanted to let the Gods know he was angry by shouting his own messages at them.
Suddenly, the wisps disappeared. Of course, his first thought was 'did I do that?'. He didn't, but he didn't believe that. He skirted the confused crowd until an explosion materialised, immediately setting off more vulgar thoughts about Aodhians coming back for more trouble, deducing they were the cause of it. After the light subsided, though, there was a luminous creature that uttered a single, ominous sentence.
It was a Kirin.
But Ciel thought it was a prank. He forcibly and nervously chuckled to show everyone how 'smart' he was for figuring out that a horse was 'just tricking them'.
Chapter IV [didn't participate]
It seems that Ciel had caught some kind of sickness from a foreigner, and stayed inside as much as he could in order to contain the spread, and closed his surgery temporarily during the worst parts of it. After all, he didn't feel like treating other horses while he, himself, had the same sickness. During this period, he let the letters at his door stack up, and was oblivious to the goings-on outside his own live-in surgery. When he finally decided he was ready to emerge back into the world, he found a particularly large box at his door, which was addressed to him from his best friend Tem.
He was always excited to get mail from Tem, so he tore it open happily. No words could describe his confusion when it turned out to be a scrawny American Bobcat cub- which he thought was a normal domestic cat's kitten. He spent the next week cat-proofing his surgery and cursing Tem's patron God, ignorant of the disorder plaguing Breim's tunnels.
Chapter V [Link Soon]
Led seemingly by a dream that no one really remembered, he and a group of five individuals [including Ozzer, of course] made their way to the edge of Sterling to try and figure out why this odd event of a shared dream occurred. Little did they know, they were being shadowed by a Kirin.
Their search led them through beautiful caverns of gemstones, and each of the members of the group brought home the memories of the tunnels and what they held. Unfortunately, one such tunnel as filled with bats, which were harmless but made Ciel’s skin crawl when they exploded from their resting place in a ceiling space. When the bats cleared, everyone lost their feeling of where to go, and Ciel had lost his temper and gave up. He leaned against a wall, only to fall right through it. The others followed him through the invisible wall only to find an ancient room with illegible writing scrawled about. On the far wall, there was a pedestal with an ancient key-like relic. However, as the key was lifted, the room began to crumble and they fled the scene. It was decided that Ozzer would have the key for safekeeping, and what is going to happen with the key and what it all means is still being decided.
Familiar
Name: Tem Junior
What Ciel Actually Calls Her: ’Stinky’
Meaning: In honour of her saviour, Tem . Immediately after calling her this, Ciel felt as if he had just dishonoured Tem by naming a scrawny, stinky feline after him, so decided to use her real name as little as he possibly could by calling her 'Stinky'.
Past Names: Unknown
Nickname[s]: Temmie, Junior, Ugly, ‘The Cat'
Age: Kitten
Gender: Female
Species: American Bobcat [rank reward] [Melanism mutation]
Physical Description:
Junior is merely a small, clawed, dark-coloured ball of fluff. It is not known what age she is exactly, as she was taken in with no prior knowledge, but is assumed to be young because of the ‘expert opinions’ Ciel has gathered from random, unqualified equines who have never seen a Bobcat before, leading Ciel to believe she’s actually just a normal domestic cat. This melanistic trait leaves the whites of her scleras not-so-white because of concentrated pigment, and her eyes much darker than they would be. Her legs are short and stubby, and she’s got a small kitten belly that’s swollen with food that she steals from the pantry. They haven’t yet realised that she has a melanism mutation, which conceals her true colouring- which is the real reason why Ciel thinks she’s just a normal cat. Her fur curls up near her tufted ears, making two small structures that resemble devil horns- and boy, do they suit her personality. She is often hidden during the surgery’s open hours, but if she manages to escape, her large dark amber eyes and soft nose often get out some “aww”s from visiting patients. Her claws are almost constantly unsheathed, as she’s still figuring out exactly how much damage she can do with them.
History:
It is clear that little Junior used to belong to another equine, as when she arrived one day at Ciel’s door in a box, sent by his buddy Tem, she had already been uplifted. What isn’t clear, however, is why someone would dump a small, defenseless Bobcat kitten in the wilderness- and why Tem would trust Ciel of all people to look after her. The fact that Tem trusted him with this feline is the sole reason why she remains in his household. She’s not allowed to leave the house, and attempts to restrict her to only part of the surgery have been fruitless. She is considered a safety hazard by him, as he considers the fact that his patients may be allergic to cats.
Ciel hates animals. He hates cats. He hates things he needs to feed. He doesn’t even know what ‘uplifting’ is, let alone that this kitten has been intellectually enhanced, and is constantly confused at how this supposedly simple-minded creature, who he’s meant to be above in terms of smartness, is constantly outsmarting him.
And he hates it.

The dawn light filtered through the leaves above, painting the tom's being as he stood there for what seemed like an eternity; Basking in its radiant light and drawing a cool breath, only for it to be exhaled as visible vapour in the early dawn's temperature. He felt a small tickle deep inside his stomach, causing him to fill his lungs with yet another breath, just to feel the sensation again for the hundredth time. Finally capturing the motivation to move, he dragged his paws tiredly- but with a spring in his step- across the lawn, on which the raindrops from the eventide before were trapped in the low sides of the grass' blades. If he peered close enough, he could see a reflection. It was the most familiar one he knew. His own. He ran his rough tongue over the edges of his fangs, which were now peaking more than usual from beneath his lip from the silly grin slapped across his maw, caused by a figure behind his shoulder in said reflection.
"Boarpaw!" Came a low yowl. He could recognise that voice anywhere. Still smiling, he turned his head around at his leisure and straightened his posture. He still had a way to go before he was taller than the other cat, but he didn't mind. So that's my new name now, huh? Boarpaw thought as he relished the older tom's words in his brain.
"Are you ready to start your training?" he reiterated from the night before.
"Must you ask me again, Stoatfur?" Boarpaw gave an enthusiastic nod of his head and raced toward him, nuzzling his temple beneath the older tom's chin and wallowing in his scent. He felt his pulse accelerate and his pelt become warm- he wasn't sure if it was because of his excitement, or... something else. He couldn't quite place his paw on it.
"By the way, don't worry about the other apprentices if they point out your age, fangs or size. You're special. You're training to be the lifeline of the Clan- and quite a lifeline you'll be! Anyway, back to my point. Medicine cats have to train for longer, because they're smarter and have more things to learn. Just tell them that, okay, squirt?" These words made his heart soar- he loved how friendly the cats were here. And, amidst the ongoing embrace, he pondered to himself about how many of these intimate moments he'd missed from his parents, siblings, and his friends.
Fun Facts
• Ciel has good relations with the Royal Family and does a lot of general healing for them. As a result, he usually has enough coin to keep himself stocked up with amazing imported foods, which he is eternally grateful for. Coffee is one of his favourites.
• His mixed bloodline is both a blessing and a curse, in his eyes- he believes this part of him makes him unique, but he doesn't openly share this information for fear of being judged or seeming 'less Breimian'. He makes up for this part of him by being overly patriotic.
• He goes to tremendous lengths to avoid treating foals or youths because of his history, but this hasn't stopped him from treating just a few, namely his regular patient Cecilia- a Breim royal.
• This pony usually gets something he calls "herding instincts", which is a euphemism for his loneliness. When this mode is on, he'll approach almost anyone, looking for interaction.
• A great way to get closer to him is to have a sophisticated conversation about food.
• Ciel has periodic wanderlust, only rarely wanting to travel outside the tunnels. When he does, though, he visits quite a few friends and cousins in Onea, or simply checks up on the vagabonds to get news on the surrounding herds.
• This pony is quite the critique, always speaking to the Makers of the herd and assessing their products, which he has absolutely no authority to do- but don’t tell him that.
• Ciel absolutely hates it when he is called "short", or is poked fun at for his size.
• He has a low tolerance for any other animals apart from rabbits or hares- and horses, of course.
• Expect to be dragged into his childish trouble if you associate with him, as he loves pranks and tricks.
• He wouldn't mind adopting a foal, despite his general nature which would be very unsuited for one. However, immediately after thinking about adopting, he shuts the idea down.
• Don't feel weird if he begins to nibble on your ear, he does it to test the patience of someone.
• He's a flexiterian - he occasionally eats birds' eggs and even mice to gain the nutrients he needs, even if he cannot digest meat properly. He believes the flavour is worth the sore stomach, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Talk about dedicated.
• He sometimes wishes he were a pegasus, just so he could be seen as more attractive by the standards of Breim society.
• Both he and his brother are named after the shades of blue in their eyes.
• Speaking of eye colours, Ciel's aura and teke are the same colour as his eyes.
