Description Day 152 of 365

I was really hoping for some local storms this night, but the closest they came was a couple counties north of us. Ended up shooting this storm, which was nearly 30 miles north of me. Luckily, it was still dropping a few visible CGs. I put on my 50mm f/1.4 and fired away. Stood in a field (right by an electrical plant, great idea lol) for about an hour watching these storms slowly move northeast. Not all of these bolts struck during the interval of one photo - this is a stack of 3 images.

wow we had crazy lightning storms like that last week. I wasn't able to get lightning because it was so cloudy, this is awesoem though!

wow! incredible shot the storm looks amazing but what i really thought that made this pic so great is that at the same time, the street lamps are BRUUSSTING with light! thats pretty sick

Thank you very much! That's because I was exposing the shot for the lightning. The street lamps were obviously much brighter than the distant lightning, so they ended up being really bright. I'm happy with how it turned out

we had a thunder and lightening storm here the other night and i tried so hard to get 1 picture of the lightening..no luck whats so ever!!!!
