Description Canon Rebel XSi
Reversed 18-55mm

It's almost a little frustrating when you get snowflakes with so much dendritic growth that they extend past the corners of your frame! These beauties fell last March and were hands-down the best snowflakes of the year. I'm glad I shot them, because we've been off to a slow start this year! While I much prefer shooting the intricate bubble details found within plates and sectored plate crystals, this massive snowflake was such a textbook example of a "stellar dendrite" that I had to include it in my 2021 calendar:  bit.ly/2KW7F3V

I've been experimenting with my setup a little bit now that I have an actual 100mm macro lens, but I have yet to rival the magnification results from my trusty ol' 18-55mm on a crop sensor.

Please tell me what you think!

Thanks David! We've only gotten snow a couple times so far this season, hopefully more opportunities in the offing this spring...
