Witness the power of nature...

Canon 5Dmk1
Bower 14mm

While editing images for the May 25th account, I was delighted to see that I had gotten luckier than I originally thought on this chase! Originally kept this shot just for its composition, but just now noticed that I managed to catch a small cloud-to-cloud bolt of lightning at the top of the frame! Tough to top a classic mothership supercell over open terrain, but this lightning was the icing on the cake! Makes me consider investing in a lightning trigger for next year... hmm... maybe something to add to the Christmas list

I loooove the way you used the crop rows to create a vanishing point in this shot. This photo ought to win an award some day.

Great photo. Β Do you think if a rural policeman was driving nearby and saw this, it would make him think of donuts?

Cool capture, Evan

I caution against the lightning trigger.Β  I've got an Opteka trigger that is frustrating beyond belief!Β  Do your research before buying--I really believe shooting with an intervalometer would be less frustrating and you'd be more likely to get the shots you're looking for.

It never ceases to amaze me how these storms can be so beautiful, and at the same time, create so much havoc and damage. Β It's the classic struggle between beauty and destruction, combined into one entity. Β This is a wonderful capture, and certainly worthy of being displayed and appreciated. Β Very well done!
