At first glance, it's nothing special, but in about one and a half seconds it just hits you for some reason - i don't know if it happens to anyone else, but my mind starts to see it as a color piece. And this makes you reel in horror as your head is fighting with itself over what the hell you're actually looking at in the first place.

I like it.

DEVIL!

This is digital? It look like a monotype print!! AWESOME. Very expressionist in style. Stark, emotional, disturbed.

I just saw this on dgroove's page and I love it. So expressive, freehand. Really and truly a magnificent piece. I am taking it home.

Splendid - very german expressionist -- loove the patterning of those arms thrusting yup...

seems a bit hamlet-like... to my anyway it seems he's holding aloft a ram's skull or something...

what's the medium?

~thppt just saw this tonight too. I gave him the lowdown on this one. Ill paste it here for you:

This is section of a painting I did back in angst filled teenagehood. The color mangement was terrible but the strokework was as you see it. So I put some serious effort into into making it more than it was, what it was meant to be, hopefully without sacrificing its 'techlessness'.

All I did was greyscale it then played with selective contrasts and swapping shades for about a week. Im not sure what caused the pixelation, but I liked it. Could have easily ditched this one for one without. Originally acrylics, but I suppose its mixed media now.

I was rather pleased with it, as it was a learning experience.

Im glad you two liked it.

I dont recall this one from before.. So, Im curious when "I changed this around some" went into effect.
I love it. the feeling is just pouring out of this one. the way the hands hide part of the face and that huge eye gives me the feeling that I have just cought the character after he had done something awful. Which is really weird when you are that character. The bitmap around the mouth and top is very odd but I like it, Im not sure if it was done on the computer or by hand which is a very good thing (although I'm leaning more towards the computer with how rough the rest of the illustration is.)
awsome

I love how it flows ... how it almost appears to be in motion. The contrasts really are excellent. Very nice.

It's reminds me of the figure in the Scream. Yeah, what did you use? Is the mouth pixellated on purpose?

ack! like van gogh! very nice, dark. i love it. - not the little pixelation in areas, but other than that, it's awesome!

what DID you do this with? some sort of dry brush paint/ink? it's a great effect!
