I love the mottled green (what is it?) and the Picasso-like ease of the line... The table top thrusts very nicely into the viewer's "space"... Have you ever seen caravaggio's "Entombment"? Check it out and look at how incredibly he has the stone at the bottom push out of the frame of the painting...
Also great - and counterintuitively great - contrast of light to dark... one would expect the gradient to move the opposite way (under the table-dark/ over the table- light) - nice switch.
