Diggin' It! I thought it was an actual photograph at first. Looks like this Sista could be Ethiopian or Eritrean. Beautiful work! How long did it take you to do this piece? Also what colors did you use for your shadows, midtones, and highlights and what tips would you impart to a fellow Sketchbook Pro (mobile version)user?

It took a while. I can't remember the exact colors, but i used a lot of violets, browns, pale greens, oranges, etc all over the place. And just keep experimenting. I watch a lot of tutorials.

You're right about that, because the clothes and necklace especially were initially a distraction. The shine from the necklace was competing with her eyes, which was a problem, so I when I was done painting I had to throw a gradient layer over it to darken the bottom half. Leading the viewers eye is something I want to focus on in a more organic fashion in the future.
