I think you did great in the perspective of the whole picture, not mentioning the fact that the grainy sand looks great. The coloring of the birdie is pretty nice and finally the shades where very well done
The only thing I would change is the grainy-ness of the water, but apart from that, this is a great pic!

Yeah, I HATE doing water! I made it grainy too though, because there was sand on the bottom, but I guess I've still got a lot to work on

Holy geez, no kidding! Might be a good idea to turn tail and run, but with a bird of prey that size, it likely wouldn't matter. I imagine that thing could get some pretty good speed under it's wings!
