So, the round lights are just $1 dollar tap-lights I bought at Big Lots. They take 3 AAA batteries each, all housed in the little light. They lasted all day.

The back of the armor also has 7 feet of blue EL wire which was connected to a battery pack hidden behind my neck. That battery pack took 2 AA batteries and they lasted all day and then some.

The omni tool has thicker EL wire than the armor, and it was 9 feet long, powered by a single 9volt battery. It went through 3 batteries in one day! So, the extra length, plus the extra thickness made it die sooner I guess.

Oh, also I bought the EL wire from ThatsCoolWire.com which is a great site, you can choose various widths and lengths and battery types. Highly recommend.

How did you get the lights to work? Where are the batteries?

Awesome, what materials did you use?

Frijoleluna In reply to Flopolopagus [2011-09-03 03:47:17 +0000 UTC]

EVA foam (floor mats) hot glue, elastic strapping, hot glue, thinner EVA foam mat (the roll up kind), hot glue, plexi and acrylic on the omni tool. Oh yeah, and hot glue.
