Another lovely capture of yours.
I love the time you took the shot, letting the colors add more drama to it. The sky adds to the picture and the reflection of the windows even more (with the middle one nailed on my vision!).
Sharp as always and lovely framed, exposed properly to transfer the mood of the time you got the shot.
The building shapes attract the eye into them and the warmth of the colors just reveals the magic of the place.
Would love to see more such shots, so I get the chance to see more of Australia! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

For some strange reason it looks different from all the other photos, I like that. Cliche shot but somehow it's original, well done

Thats a good angle of the Opera House. There the three shots done with the camera horizontal or in portrait. Yea I am upgrading mine and it takes a while to get it all looking good.

I have found that sometimes when shooting around the opera house less is more. This shot has cut out a lot of distracting aspects around the icon.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

theodosius123 In reply to MattLauder [2009-04-15 05:06:11 +0000 UTC]

That's true, but then again you can get the stereotypical view of the icon and make it amazing. I took a few myself.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

MattLauder In reply to theodosius123 [2009-04-15 20:00:43 +0000 UTC]

yea its hard to make such a photographed icon original. But Kirk has done that I think.

Color is great, and I like the fact that it isn't the "traditional" view of the Opera House. Good work.

Fantastic image, that 400d is a damn good camera really and i think its under estimated quite a allot of the time.

thanks ,
Yeah the 400D was a great camera for the price and to start off with had no problems with it.
Have recently upgraded to the 5D MKII and am loving it .

read some great reviews on the 5D MKII so i'm sure you certainly having fun. I'm trying to master the 40D at the min but think I'm failing cant seem to get a good sharp pic with good colour, I'm sure I will get there as it seems to a good review and there's lots on here that use it.
