Description
This is Torak, one of the UK Wolf Trust's wolves. He's a cross between a Eurasian wolf and a Mackenzie Valley wolf (Canis lupus lupus x Canis lupus occidentalis).You may use this photo, but please attribute me as the original photographer and link back.

It was at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust here in the UK. They used to allow a lot of contact with their wolves when the wolves were younger, and the trust was smaller. Now the trust is a bigger operation, and the wolves are a bit older and more willful, they have to take more care.
They do allow trust members to meet some of the wolves though, although under strict instruction about how to behave - we're allowed to give them a belly rub (touching their back or head could be viewed as a dominance gesture, so they don't allow us to do that). Torak's not much of a people wolf though (and often doesn't like men), so sadly he's off-limits for belly rubs!
