Mamesaku had her misedashi, or debut as a maiko, in the Gion Kobu hanamachi (geisha district). She went to ochaya (tea houses), okiya (geisha houses), and local stores to thank everyone for their support.It's really hard to walk down stairs in okobo.

I was really daunted the first time I tried on okobo, but they are actually easier to walk in than they appear. But okobo and stairs definitely do not mix

Oh, I know exactly how she feels trying to go downstairs in okobo! I had the same problem during my cosplay, haha. But I love walking in okobo. And that little story where the otokoshi raced to save her was cute!

I've tried to walk down stairs in okobo too, and in geta, and it's so not easy. I felt her pain.

They actually aren't too hard to walk in, and the maiko get used to them very quickly, but going down stairs is hard. The foot wants to lean forward, but if they do that, they're going to topple over.
