Just have to ask: What steel did you use please? Also; what type of etchant acid/acids did you make use of please?

That is... amazing, frankly. How on earth did you achieve that effect? I'm trying to think how I would do it, but nothing immediately comes to mind. Most of the blade looks like it's pattern welded, but how you got the pure edge with that brilliantly crafted pattern is stumping me. Truly high caliber work.

Not to take away from the piece which is very attractive. But that's just an acid etch, you can do it at home with some nail polish as a block and some PCB etchant from Radio Shack.
