Hello everyone! I have a question for you today.. Do you like Drow (Dark Elves)? I love them, I love all kinds of elves but Drow will always hold a dear spot in my heart. This is why I was so pleased when I learned I could draw her for as her prize for the First Brigade Raffle that recently ended. The prize was a black and white portrait, and I picked a her grey eyed dark elf, because .. well, the b/w part just doesn't play much of a role.Zen is a high priestess of Lloth, particularly known for killing anyone who’d want to rival her rank in the clergy, when they least expect it. She comes off as a rather kind and innocent woman but when she eventually kills she goes into a sort of blood rage and turns the place of the “crime” into a shrine for her goddess, writing symbols all over the walls and herself in the victims blood.
I loved working on Zen, I had to spend a bit of extra time on her, because I fell enamored with the character and her design. It was also my first Dark Elf .. ever, and I can't wait to try my hand at painting more of them. I hope you like the final result!

Systemic violence within the own species cannot function well in any form for long and definition of well.
Thats modern social science and whether dark elves are a race or a species for the purpose of argumentation within the more dubious depth of evolutionary genetics, is not an issue, as long as the subgroup offends enough other groups without chance to find common grounds.
I love me an underdog any day, but feeding myself to it?
The Tolkien Dark Elves were kind of romantic in a old school brooding way,
the AD&D ones?
They nerfed the "race" elves enough, in my oppinion!
I got to be a treehugger and therefore cannot be a self-righteous murderer of
morally lesser beings (Class: Paladin (subform: only bound to nature and Gods that favor her)...
Jup! It would get ugly quick (as if rangers and druids cannot get angry) but they do not like the city...
OK, before i get the frothing around the mouth badge, lets just say Gary Gygax (sorry, never ever even dared to spell his name out loud (experienced nerds will know what i am talking about)) had political problems (like the choice between a buttful of money or else...), i simply do not have.

Lol, indeed Master, the Pratchett
had standards, lesser elephants could dance under
with room for hat.
But he read original mythologies and worse,
he has vampires that turn to dust on a professional
basis.
Werewolfes with bad hair days, that the criminals
called for police, kind of.
And witches that trully ruled the land by hard and
unliked work.
None of which claimed their origins and guilds as
particularly funny for others or even liked by them.
But the Lords and Ladies are special in the named
classes or such. Historically, speaking it was a bad
idea to besmirch a feudal leaders honor because
of head fell off or such matters.
So when speaking about blood suckers and stealer
of children, the commons of these times and especially
the enemies of the lords ruling fantasies engaged in
propaganda warfare, not romantisising their world
to their children and neighbours.
But we are still not talking dark elves, which maybe
came at least 400-500 years later. As far as i know,
the notion of faery, entities that are so magical or
whatever that they can spell doom by playing with
you or something of the kind comes from Scandinavia,
historically speaking strongly against being ruled bad
especially by outsiders, some still have a place in their hearts
and policies for nature and spirituality, and in my oppinion
some of the most advanced civilisations, white people have to offer
for now.
I am happy to have found people and artist especially
that are not easily offended, and am not against dark
and or elfes, just against defining systemic violence
in any way as positive for the victims or societies in general
and i hope i did not even imply that in your case at all.
Anyway, i am glad to found someone to play and such
a well spoken of one at that. But WOTs are not funny
and i do not want to become known as the dark teach or worse.
