Description

During any breaks at work, I jotted down Notes on my phone on good ideas for Merigonan forms, regional evos, and new evos to regular pokemon to do at any given time.

Luxtu , Merigonan Wailord , and Merigonan Luxray are all intended to be connected in some way, as how their basis' are all connected in Native American Culture.

Merigonan Shinx is the simplest of the three, only gaining feature reminiscent to a child learning how to swim like floaty braces on his front limbs, face markings resembling goggles, and it's tufts of fur resembling shark fins - like the ones you'd see pranking people in pools and such.

Ability: (1) Swift Swim
(2) Intimidate
(H) Drizzle

"Shinx aren't naturally good swimmers, so they would ride along the backs of their parents for safety. The flotation devices on their front limbs glow like a beacon to communicate to one another like morse code."

-Level up Merigonan Shinx to Level 15, and it'll evolve into Merigonan Luxio-

Merigonan Luxio is more lanky to it's Sinnohan counterpart, they've changed to become more adept to an amphibious lifestyle, much like how prehistoric whales would be adept to hunting fish for food while maintaining land mobility.

"The bioluminescence of Luxio is said to be the remnants of it's land-hunting counterpart's electrical abilities, where it now uses it to light up the dark waters while it hunts nocturnally."

-Level up Merigonan Luxio to Level 30, and it'll evolve into Merigonan Luxray!-

Merigonan Luxray are more serpentine than their original versions, where their more adept to swimming as well as being fast enough to run on water and land when needed.
They are based on the Underwater panther or the Mishepishu , a long feline-like creature that rules the underworld in Native American culture and rival of the thunderbird - hence Luxtu and Luxray's contrasting type rivalry; as well as being mixed with the Serpopard of Ancient Egypt/Mesopotamian culture for good measure to balance out the long tail with a long neck.

(H) Drizzle

"Luxray's keen eyesight never changed one bit, where it's able to see clearly in the dark waters of Merigo. They're ruthless hunters, often playing with their food by batting it around with it's tail to disorient it to reduce it's chance of escaping properly."
