Finally hammered out all the details and overall theme of my central character for the story I am putting together, The Night Shepherd.The name is starting to grow on me more and more, it's something unusual and different but still gives that feeling of a protector of the innocent. The dark look and tone to the character gives that outlaw/vigilante look and the pants and belt give a militaristic look to him as well.
You wouldn't believe how many themes and looks I went through before deciding on the one above. I must have drawn this guy thirty different times before this one. At first it was an animal theme, and then a ghost theme but I am pretty happy with this end result.
I like the idea of super heroes that have flaws and weaknesses. I like them more human than super human, and wanted to tell that tyoe of story with this character.
As far as a background and motivations, you will just have to wait until I get some more pages inked and colored. Page one is inked and formatted, just got to slap some color on it. I will finish the first 3 or 4 pages and then start posting them online. It is going to be a slow process as I am the only one doing all the work here, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Actually, when I read that name I immediately liked it. Kind of has that Dark Knight quality to it. I often feel that all the GOOD superhero/costumed adventurer names have already been used, but I think you picked a real winner here.
