Description Based on this classic by (I think) Earl Norem [link] I changed up Battle Cat's helmet a little, but He-man is pretty much un-tweaked. I always dug his Battle Armor look. Hopefully, I'll have a colored one up soon.

Here's a pretty good rundown on how hands work [link] The thing that I like to keep in mind when I'm drawing hands is where the knuckles and bones are. The shape and structure of the hands is dictated by the bones underneath, so knowing where those bones are and how they move is a big deal. If you're not sure, don't be afraid to use your own hand as a reference. Also, there's a ton of stock photography that's available here on DA for you to draw from, so don't be afraid to use that as well.

I see that there's some cartoon and anime influence in your style, but don't let that stop you from using references and drawing from life. My style is very, very cartoony, but I still use a ton of photo references to make sure that my stuff is on point. I used to be huge into Masamune Shirow, and if you look at his stuff, it's really obvious that he's done a lot of life drawing.

So that would be my little piece of advice for you. The next time you draw, find a photo of the pose you want your character to be in, and draw from that. I promise, you'll be able to see the difference in your work immediately.
