The Auger SPR (Special-Purpose Rifle) is considered the evolution of the Bratton Anti-materiel rifle previously fielded by the US Army and it's anti-mutant task-forces. It functions on the same principal as it's predecessor but scaled down to a rifle-sized weapon that can easily be carried and transported by infantry. The Auger SPR corrects many of the flaws of the Bratton Mk I and Mk II rifles, namely the cumbersome size and weight issues. Unlike the Bratton, the Auger SPR is constructed out of stamped steel and polymer furnature to strike a balance between durability and low weight.

The Auger SPR's smaller caliber also makes carrying ammo much easier compared to the large magazines and .50 caliber ammunition of it's predecessors. The Auger SPR still retains the impressive armor-penetrating power of it's predecessor, with hollow point and incendiary ammunition also available depending on mission requirements. The Auger SPR can also support a variety of different optics and attachments thanks to it's picatinny rail system, unlike the Bratton which could only be mounted with a long-range scope and bipod.
