Description
Based on the fan continuity Freedom Fighters (a darker version of the Sonic the Hedgehog story)Β
The XordaΒ
They were a largely uninteresting race, semi-amphibious with a hive mind that ensured their life cycle would continue unimpeded. But eventually they began to develop sentience, and from there develop technology...and then philosophy. The invention of harmonic harnessers jumped the entire Xorda species by several decades of comparative mechanization. The once vulnerable and weak creatures could construct suits for themselves to manage many tasks and eventually honed harmonic tech to run machines and vehicles.Β
What began as grand consensus splintered into factions barely held together by a delegation of three.
Then came a Xorda named Nojir.
He postulated that, like the Xorda, other species may have evolved to control great sources of energy. But in the discovery of these they threatened the balance of the universe, or the Rubric of Equity which he and his followers regarded with nigh religious significance.Β
A follower of Nojir murdered one of the delegation, and all of Xorda kind was hurled into a war that literally destroyed their home world.
The sober survivors climbed aboard enormous warships and set off into the stars to find new intelligences that would surely also be threatened by their own disunity and technology.
The Xorda had a new purpose, to find a destroy any power source that became too great for their liking so that no other society would suffer as they had.
And if you did not submit, then better a species be destroyed than upset the delicate Rubric.Β
First they send an Ambassador resplendent in the robes of office to the leaders of the intelligent species they wish to negotiate with. The negotiations only go as far as to propose two options: surrender the power source or be utterly destroyed.Β
Xorda are naturally aquatic although they can breathe oxygen for a short time. Their spindly bodies are usually surrounded by some kind of power suit that can be modified for work...or for war.Β Β
Xorda harmonics mean that an extermination squad of Xorda soldiers is literally an anthem of death, invisible waves of sound shattering steel and concrete and obliterating flesh and bone.
