I really love the color and the compositions of this piece of work. The way you do a close up on the back of her neck in the first rectangle then one that backs further off so you can see her face. Then the flowers that break the boarder is so nice. I want to make sure she is looking at the flowers correct? That is the feel of this piece. I really like it. I am not sure how the checkered background with the flowers is working. I love the round patterns though as if it were reflections off of the water. Have you tried doing an all black background? I think it would put much more emphasis on the rectangles and the flower if you did. -^_^- Very nice piece. The music is so nice! I could see a nice little animation of this. I hope my comment was helpful

I had tried once that an all black background, but I felt too too simple.
And I wanted to draw this in Japanese traditional mood.
Checkered is called in Japanese "ๅธๆพๆจกๆง(ichimatu-moyou), an old traditional pattern.
And your guess is right the round patterns is water that is called "ๆตๆฐดๆ(ryu-sui-mon mean flowing water pattern)".
Then, it became this.
Now I think that it's better if I added a black gradation from right to left

Oh wow! I had no idea about the Ichimatu-moyou traditional pattern. O.O I feel so ashamed because I love Japanese printmaking and it is a great influence on my fine art printmaking!
