Me, I believe in common respect for all, like my Great Aunt Jean said to me when I was a little guy ;
"Treat every man like a king and every woman like a queen. " Or like King Solomon said ;"Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated."
True, there are jerks of all ages, colors, sexual orientations, cultures, and there are perfectly wonderful folks of all ages, colors, sexual orientations, and cultures.
One more quote for you;( From his grace Haille Selassie)
"Respect for others is respect for one's self."

Sometimes, hoodlums need a good thumping to stay on the straight and narrow, unless they want to tango with someone far less merciful in the future!

Most true! Better a black eye and a harsh lesson than a bloody end.

Thank you kindly, I was going for a Shitaro Ishimuri sort of look. ( Cyborg 009 is his best known work) There's something wonderfully odd and beautiful about some of those old 1960s era anime shows.

It's probably a deep-rooted romanticism about ronin was how they traveled from place to place, having to beg for food and a place to sleep at night from whomever was available. In return, they would promise to protect the occupants from danger, if necessary, while present. Still, what you've done here is a positive display of a masterless samurai choosing to serve the common good of his country and chastising those troublemakers. While some samurai were merciless about handling such situations, others would firmly warn such people to not repeat their bad manners, or next time, they would not live long. As a caregiver, this one understands the importance of being aware of elder abuse and righting wrongs. While things have changed in Japan, the principles of bushido still exist, and we can learn much from their teachings in regards to respect, dignity, compassion, and honour.
