Description Standing Before the High Council

Welcome to this hearing, man.
We have called upon you to decide your fate

Can you please tell us, what are the trees good for?
Trees? Well, for fire, for shade, for hiding

And the river?
For taking a swim, for washing clothes, for drinking

Do you know what the air is for?
Breathing. Plus, it's a great band.

Animals, big and small?
For eating, for making the children happy

The sun, the moon?
For light and tan, and for darkness, and sleeping

The earth, the land and soil?
For building houses, making borders, for fighting

Sky and clouds?
Background for photographs, rain and all that shit

What is the meaning of life?
Having sex, making money, gaining power, raising children

Well man, you answered correctly.
In your point of view, you exist alone.
All is for serving you. You live life as you are alone on this planet.
We tried living with you for a while, but as it looks, we should stop.
Man, being as superier as he is, should stay alone on this planet.
No more trees, rivers, air, animals, sun and moon. No more sky and land. No more life.

Man, for years you have sentenced us to labor.
Now, it's our decision to leave.
Before we go, we must say just one more thing.
Without us on this earth there is also, no human being.

See, the answers were right just from your point of view.
You never learned how to think of anyone but you.
Now, that life will be over on this earth

The shot was taken out, in the middle of a huge field, off the road to Beer Sheva, Israel.
The thought of nature overpowering man came to mind.
Save the environment, or at least know it's worth.

Beautiful picture and I love your interpretation above. Its amazing how you add so much meaning even to abstract photos. A simple picture with a deep meaning behind it. Something that each one of us would relate to.

Question: Is there a trick to getting color out of your infrared?

I just bought a Hoya R72 filter for my Olympus 3020Z and my shots all come out monochromatic. Does it just vary from camera to camera? Thanks.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gilad In reply to zarand [2006-09-01 14:39:55 +0000 UTC]

It does, very much.
Every camera gives you different IR, depends on the build in filter, in charge of filtering out the IR rays.

A favourite for sure! The picture is amazing as usual, but what stands out for me is the message you send with the writing- to love the earth for what it is, not what it can do for you; don't abuse it, as there is only one. Thank you! You have made an environmentalist very happy.

Oh - forgot to mention this, might be just me but I didn't notice the purple spot until a long while later, after I read the other comments. The blue sky and the bright patch on the grass caught my attention more. xD

The white in the background on the right - Is it snow ?

I like the perspective and the atmosphere. Looks like you took it on a really bright day, but the IR gave it a cool and watery feeling, so the picture looks bright and surreal at the same time, as though it was taken at some place high in the clouds. I think it'd be more impressive if the trees have thicker trunks, they'd look all old, powerful and ancient. =3

The white is not snow, it's the infra red effect.

Hi Gilad!

Great shot here, IR gives a surreal and enigmatic atmosphere, I really like it, so as the comment.
These trees seem to be very huge, but not that ancient.

There is something strange with the character : no shadows, anyway light seems to be harsh on his clothes. More, he looks like being stretched vertically?
Some purple color appears in the middle of the picture.

Anyway, good shot and beautiful trees!

gilad In reply to yardieLion [2006-06-08 06:31:13 +0000 UTC]

The streach is because of the wide distortion. The purple is the hot spot I tried to avoid as hard as I can...
Thank you!
