Beautiful picture and I love your interpretation above. Its amazing how you add so much meaning even to abstract photos. A simple picture with a deep meaning behind it. Something that each one of us would relate to.

I couldn't be more curious, is this the same exact place as this shot was taken by RoieG?

Question: Is there a trick to getting color out of your infrared?
I just bought a Hoya R72 filter for my Olympus 3020Z and my shots all come out monochromatic. Does it just vary from camera to camera? Thanks.

It does, very much.
Every camera gives you different IR, depends on the build in filter, in charge of filtering out the IR rays.

Oh - forgot to mention this, might be just me but I didn't notice the purple spot until a long while later, after I read the other comments. The blue sky and the bright patch on the grass caught my attention more. xD

The white in the background on the right - Is it snow ?
I like the perspective and the atmosphere. Looks like you took it on a really bright day, but the IR gave it a cool and watery feeling, so the picture looks bright and surreal at the same time, as though it was taken at some place high in the clouds. I think it'd be more impressive if the trees have thicker trunks, they'd look all old, powerful and ancient. =3

Thank you.
The white is not snow, it's the infra red effect.

i love this photo, it seems so ghostly and surreal. I'm a big fan of IR anyway, but your shots always seem to amaze me.

The streach is because of the wide distortion. The purple is the hot spot I tried to avoid as hard as I can...
Thank you!

What a great execution of the concept. I like that in your accomanying text you actually have the council tell man that his answers are right... until you hit with the kicker.
The image is stunning.
