so you shoot all your uv stuff with your 20D. Did remove the uv filter inside the camera? If not how do you get uv pictures?

yah, your right, i had the filter in front of the sensor removed and replaced with an IR filter. It works pretty swell. i was thinking about getting a lens filter for the 5d to see how they come out... thanks

cool, I only have one body so turning it into a uv camera really isnt much of an option for me right now.

prices vary quite a bit, check on bhphotovideo.com thats where I buy mine. allthough i don't use a lens filter. the camera i have is modified so that it only takes infrared photos. i got this done at lifepixel.com

Did you buy the filter only and converted it at home or did you send the whole camera and let the focus adjusted too? I've bought a 2nd hand D50 for conversion, and I'm on the fence... $300 vs $100 is quite a difference for me...

I had them do it, i think it might be tedious work trying to do it myself... but i do wish i had them adjust for the lens though.. i just sent them the body.

They abjust it to a default (kit) lens when you send the body. Nikon bodies are calibrated to a 18-70 for example. I guess Canon bodies are set to Canon 18-55.
