What lens are u using for your fisheye shots? Tokina 10-17? How's your experience with it in both IR and visible light spectrum? Does it have any hotspot? How's the focus shift compared to the 18-70?

I love this lens in both spectrums. the only thing I don't love is that the zoom ring is a bit loose, but that might be just mine.. and it lacks a gel filter holder.

can't compare af, because my 18-70 is backfocussing anyway, but the DOF in the fisheye gives a lot of room for a shift. there's no hot spot

Sounds cool. Thanks a lot! Flare like this (straight into the sun with no clouds in fornt of it) is acceptable as I avoid such situations anyways. Hotspot, focus shift and sharpness are the main factors I consider for IR.
