Here's a little character I made for a friend's going away party.

If she looks similar to a certain Disney mermaid, it's because she actually has Ariel hair in real life!!! It was a bit of a trick to make sure she had her own style going on so she didn't look TOO MUCH like an Ariel clone!
From sketch to build to animation, it took probably about a week, with the final build tweaks and all animation done in the last 2 days.
This is the Safe For Work version, there is one with boobies, but I elected to submit in 2 Flash files so people can view the clean version alone.

Nice work on the model! I especially like the lips, face and hair.
I've got a little suggestion/critique for you. There's nothing wrong with the piece as it is, but I think you could improve the loop even more by tweaking the animation of the tail fin. Right now, it looks very flat and cut-out-ish, as if it only exists on a two-dimensional plane. To fix this, you could start out with a tail fin that is positioned parallel to the tail instead of parallel to the camera, and use more foreshortening and secondary action. You could probably still use tweening to animate it, though I would suggest creating a frame-by-frame loop.

Yeah, I definitely cut some corners! Thanks for the tips, I might have tried that if I had more time.
Unfortunately this was already presented to the gift recipient, so any further tweaking would just be for me. Not that there's anything wrong with that! LOL
