Description I've been wanting to practice hands for a while, and so I took a bunch of reference photos of my sister's hands (her hands are pretty in my opinion), and used them as inspiration for most of the poses. The skin colors are just random ones, since I wanted to practice different ones. I also included a wordless step-by-step on how I draw hands and color them. As I wrote on the drawing, I hope this gives you a hand

I was originally intending to do this and post this several weeks ago, back in February but more recently there has been a loss in my family and my work on it was interrupted and I took a short break from a lot of things. I should be drawing more though in the coming weeks

cool style and precious sources, thanks for the tutorials

hands are very tricky, but personally what i really struggle against is drawing decent feet (bare feet, not with shoes), they make me go crazy XD

I would like to offer my respectful sympathy for your loss.

It is good to see work from you again.

Hands were particularly challenging, back when I was drawing. Thinking of them as assemblies of simpler forms is both essentially accurate - and, I would think, useful.

About hands: have you noticed how many variations on the basic human hand there are? Ach! Of course you have. Never mind.

I'm glad to be drawing more again ^^ and I agree it's pretty much essential to break hands down into smaller forms in one's head. And they do have many variations I just am horrible at making them as varied as they actually can be XD

Maybe. I'm not super good at drawing bones, but I might at some point if I do some inanimate object studies or something

All the colors were at my whims, the skin and the paintedness. However, the linearts were mostly based off my sister's hands, particularly the ones with long nails She normally keeps her nails pretty long.

A bit better, but I just found out that I won't be able to go to the memorial because the plane tickets are too expensive for my whole family to go. So it'll just be my parents going.
