In my Illustrator class, one of the assignments was to create a garden scene with only brushes we made ourselves and we had to create at least one of each type of brush.This was the first time I ever made brushes in Illustrator.
As you can see....I really like stars. A lot. The hearts were supposed to be like a heart fruit kind of thing.
Time: Roughly 7 hours (the most time was making the fence brush).

The details in this are really well done, especially the fence. I like the way you laid out the flowers, the little stars in there add a nice touch.

It's an awesome class! You could probably take it winter or spring quarter. I'm not sure what prof to recommend though. :/

The prof actually dinged me on the use of colors (I got a good rating for that instead of excellent). I don't think he's into bright colors.

I might do more scenes like this.
Vectors are different than bitmaps, since they are infinitely scalable without loss in resolution and are derived from mathematical equations.

The most time was making the brushes (especially the fence). It was a lot of fun to do, but it ate my mac's ram like crazy. XD;;
