Description
While Nebula’s attention was occupied elsewhere, Lara Croft snuck up towards the stone throne. As the adventurer approached Nebula’s seat of power, she passed by a large puddle of red, black, and yellow slime sprawled across the floor and a golden statue of two warrior twins, who now in their present state could only scare away the birds bold enough to use the cup in He-Man’s hand as a bath. Everything seemed too quiet.

Once Lara started to climb the stone steps, she noticed something that almost seemed too good to be true. The Infinity Gauntlet, the sole source of Nebula’ power, was just lying on the stone seat. Why would Nebula have made such a careless mistake?

Lara then had to weigh in her mind the risks and the rewards from stealing the gauntlet. Although Nebula could have left this weapon unattended to set up an ambush, Lara guessed that if she could wield this alien technology, she could potentially end Nebula’ tyranny in this dreamscape. Therefore, she decided that potential end of this nightmare outweighed the risks of a planned trapped.

After Lara had lifted the gauntlet from the cold throne, the platform in which the chair rested started to shake. From above, a giant blue and purple sphere dropped down towards the throne. Plastered on one side of the ball's surface was an angry replica of Nebula's face. Instinctively, Lara leapt off the throne and dashed away from the rolling ball of death. Lara kept hopping from one platform to another, while the sphere followed closely behind.

During this chase, Lara noticed a fork in the path ahead of her that she believed she could use for her own advantage. One path turned at a sharp ninety degree angle, which would prevent the giant ball from pursuing her any further. After she had made her turn, she watched the ball roll pass her and down the second path. This brief moment allowed Lara is let out a sigh of relief. The danger was now over.

Or that was what she had thought. Suddenly, the giant purple and blue ball came to a screeching halt and began to roll backwards against all logic. The sphere then preceded down the path that Lara had taken just a few moments earlier. Lara tried to wear the gauntlet and use its powers to save herself, but she soon realized that it was powerless, probably a fake. The only fortunate thing going for the British adventurer was that, when the ball finally ran over her, it did not leave her as a bloody pile of roadkill. Instead, it flattened her like what a child would have seen in either a Looney Tunes or an old Disney cartoon.

“Did you really think I would have allowed the most powerful weapon in the universe to fall into the hands of my enemies?” Nebula taunted the flattened Lara Croft with a laugh as she materialized nearby. In addition to the appearance of the mad titan’s daughter, two animated gloves showed up next to Lara. These gloves immediately began to peel the adventurer off the ground, like pulling a sticker off its originally packaged wax paper.

“My, my, my. You’re as flat as a board,” Nebula declared once she saw the full extent of Lara’s flattened form. “I bet that’s the first time you’ve ever been described like that! But I guess there’s always a first time for everything.”
