I often use the outline layout on multiply, so the white doesn't matter.

Wow, I'd never heard of multiply before now. Looked it up just now and I can see how that would be useful. Thanks for the heads up. Before now I'd just create a gray BG with a transparent layer in between it and the lineart. I'm gonna go try the multiply right quick.

Unfortunately I couldn't find how to do the multiple blend on GIMP just yet so I just did it my usual way.

Really? In Layer or Brush mode just click on multiply! I have GIMP too, and I use the Multiply mode a LOT.
