Description Hey guys, remember Macross 7? HA HA HA HA.

So, was telling me how he and were looking at this picture of a stucco wall for some reason ([link] ) and saw various things in the top right (see it? See it now? I didn't). We all decided to draw our own interpretations, which are linked below.

In honesty, I saw a number of different things, but by far the coolest was an image inspired by the recently-revealed cover art for the mech game "Armored Core 5": [link]

That's some raw box art if I ever saw it.

Now, I've never actually played any Armored Core game, nor have I seen Super Dimension Fortress Macross, but I've always liked the ludicrous idea of fighter jets with legs. But twisty lasers? That's going too far.

saw pretty much what I saw at first, a suit of armor with a sword: [link]

apparently also saw a suit of armor, but as always the guy managed to work an anime girl into the picture: [link]

Try it out the next time you're staring at your ceiling patterns for hours in a fit of fevered delirium. It's fun.

It's cool! I especially love the lighting on the ground there. Nice palette mastery

Thanks, John. I guess I took some liberties with the stucco image, but that means a lot coming from you.

Thanks. Given the size of the piece and how sloppy I was I filed it under oekaki, but I do notice I've been doing mostly pixel stuff lately.

hagh-
HOW DID YOU SEE THIS IN THAT STUCCO?
I'm so impressed with everything-
the pose of the VF, the colors, the logo

That sky and the colors on the ground reminded me a LOT of planet Venom (easy or medium diffuculty path) from the snes Starfox.

(Also, is the title a play on Monkey D Luffy?)

/narc_self

What, you don't see it? The sword in yours was the gun pod in mine; the legs and rest of the body really reminded me of the AC5 cover art, particularly the foreshortened legs. It also allowed me to cut a LOT of corners by obscuring everything in shadow. The logo's still not quite right, I think the two wings are supposed to be more pointed downwards. Ah, well.

Yeah, now that you mention it, it does look like Venom!

(Pfft, no, it's a play of "Super Dimension Fortress Macross", the full name of the original series, which wouldn't fit in the damn deviantArt title field)

Now that you mention it, I do see that. So you took some liberties with it, very nice.
Oh... well, people are going to keep assuming that it's a play on Monkey D. Luffy. Just sayin'
