Thanks Walt! The background was a newer addition over the old idea. I ended up doing a lot of studies on what the main culture of the species would look like so I may end up doing more stuff for them.
The Kashirim are my favorite little lizard alien things, look at the little rascals! barely 100,000 years old and they've already established a form of civilization! They grow up so fast!

but thanks walt! glad u like it!

It's truly horrible what ends up happening to this species because of us

What is their fate ultimately? Is it Native American style, 90 percent of the population dead, and we become the dominant sentient species on their world - complete genocide in possibly the most tragic example of invasive speciationΒ in all of recorded Human history - or are they integrated into one of the large interstellar states?

goeliath In reply to TerranTechnocrat [2016-04-01 06:42:53 +0000 UTC]

We essentially introduce the full concept of war and religion to this species. For the most part war has not existed on their world. The culture that they have is more about solving conflicts through single combat only. Though there's "peacekeepers" who are their soldiers essentially, they're nothing more than a police and security force and less of a standing army. We humans don't really do that much damage to the species. But our Ideology we end up introducing does and they pretty much start tearing themselves apart on the belief that humanity are or are not gods. There's a lot more to it, but in the short condensed version that's what happens.Β
I wanted to explore something else for the most part as we've already seen how colonizing has gone on earth with natives being exposed to diseases, or the invading army killing everyone. But rather the simple insertion of an ideology.Β

I can see one historical comparison between theΒ Kashiriim and Humans; the primitive Zulus of Southern Africa.

Before early European settlers arrived in the region, the Zulus were primarily pastoral farmers. When the Dutch, and British arrived, our sheer technological differences immediately destabilized the region and their culture. We brought gunpowder firearms, and other technologies, like wheat, and of course, the concept of warfare. The Zulu people had previously been a society who had no concept of large-scale warfare as we see it. War was primarily a ritual endeavor, that didn't involve much killing, and would usually end in the transfer of some cattle (their currency was cattle; individuals who had the most cattle would usually be the most powerful in the social hierarchy), or a small chunk of territory being redraw to the victor. When the Europeans came to South Africa, we indirectly destroyed the status quo of the region simply by introducing what we consider basic technologies to the region.

OOh very good comparison.

I'm not too familiar with the whole Zulu story, but you definitely are so props on that. Yeah though about the closest comparison you can get!

But thanks man I was hoping it was

Something like that. The Species "imperial" look is more of a mixture of Roman, Middle eastern and Aztec. This image was just sketched and outlined way before I did further studies into their culture. Just got around to giving it a half-assed coloring
