Description
The desert heat beat down on them, as the herders and traders brought their goods to the market. It was just opening up for the day and the locals were coming out to walk through and investigate the wares. Bronze and gold. Colored stones and painted pottery.
She was the appointed 'Kaff'kala' or Sherrif of the local town watch. It was her job to ensure the peace, not just between those who lived in the settlement, but between outsiders, wanderers, trader disputes, and the occasional loose beast in the city. It was her usual patrol of the market. Keeping a weary eye for small disputes or thieves. There'd be the occasional group of Kashiriim arguing over the worth of items they were bartering but it was a common sight.

"Af'kalan Kaff'kala." One of the traders said through his breath. "How goes your patrol?"
This male merchant was a Ga'ur, a swamp-lander, but a rather pleasant merchant from that area. He didn't ever wear the finest of robes or garmants that many traders donned, but slightly more tattered apparel. Yet, he always had something interesting to show.

Her toe claws slightly clicked against the sanded stone road, before she turned to him, rubbing her fingers through the follicles on her neck slightly. "Alright. No trouble." She said flicking her tongue ever so slightly. "Business these days has been acceptable?"

"Moreso than usual." He replied non-chelantly, holding out a large fruit for her, "Free for a protector." He said

She nodded and took it, tearing it in half, and squeezing it's juice out into her mouth. "And anything new from the lowlands?"

"They say the stars in the sky are being blocked out. Where light once was is now all blackness. I too, have seen such a think myself. The stars themselves even move."

"What does it mean??" she said, placing her claws on the counter

"I do not know. Some say it is an omen. But I do not try to buy into superstition. Perhaps when I return home in the next few nights I will see what is said about such a thing." He said extending his arms in confusion.

She snorted in return. What a ridiculous thought. Moving stars? Darkness? Sound like an omen, if she had believed in those babblings of senile old Kashiriim. She turned back to the male trader "Peace be with you." She said departing to continue her patrol

"And with you."
