I finished it. I had the most trouble with the area above the neck, because the pouch, feelers, and head are hard to make in Spore. The hands/feet were hard to find, and it took a while for me to find the right style. The paint design is based on the blue, orange striped Gapuri in this picture, and I used the Gapuri Dancer image as a body reference.

I like it a lot! The Gapuri dancer is a bit out dated anatomy wise but I still really like how this turned out. I wish I could see a larger image of it! And I can't download it to my Spore because I can't connect to the online stuff >.<

Oh I just had drawn it a while ago, the Gapuri aren't that upright anymore. The head's a little different too.

I really meant the Spore connection problem, but still, I slowly have to come to the conclusion that the Gapuri in your icon has a mix between an alien "Me Gusta" and "Trollface" expression.

I can see how you could see this in this particular image. It's a little outdated, their body plans are too "humanoid" in this image. But I did not draw any inspiration from the elites, they have a different head plan entirely.

The Gapuri are hermaphroditic, so everyone has got the same reproductive organs. However certain colors are more prominent in individuals with a higher lever of male or female hormones.

marriage as we think of it doesn't exist on Skatha, the Gapuri will find mates and bond, but there is not a special ceremony dedicated to the bonding. And children are raised communally.

Communities work together, the Gapuri are very team oriented. They are highly social and tend to do things in pairs or groups, almost everything is a joint decision between individuals. This can lead to competitions and conflicts though. Hence the rather...unstable economy of the current Gapuri society.

I think the arms need more muscular structure, other than that i think this looks great.

They were a little skinny in this image yeah, but they aren't going to have bulging muscles the way a human arm does. Tentacles don't look like that, and that's pretty much what their arms are. But what sort of muscular structure would you suggest?

i'm not sure how tentacles work, but an interesting alien idea would be to have multiple headed muscles of like 10-20 unlike human muscles which are usually like 1-4 (bicep tricep etc.) basically i think it should look like a normal tentacle but with a striated pattern, kinda like if it was all one big muscle but the fibers were visible. I hope that makes sense =/
