Raven's little brother, Jay, is already a beautiful bird, but he can't help but to want some of those sparkly stars for himself.My most favorite bird in the world has to be the Steller's Jay. This wonderfull little corvid is just as intelligent as his Raven and Crow brothers and can be found in most of the western half of the United States.
9 1/2" X 9 1/2" Acrylic painting on Illustration Board.

I've only seen a Steller's Jay once.. where I am, Scrub Jays are far more common, but Steller's Jays are pretty awesome! And so is this art!

I wonder where he's carrying the bit of star off to. 
This is beautifully done. Though the picture is monochrome, the high contrasting makes the picture look realistic and stylized at the same time.

I encountered one of these little fellows the other day...They're a bit common in CA. He was being very chummy, obviously used to recieving handouts. I gave him 'tato chips, as they were all I had. I agree, absolutely stunning little corvids, and VERY smart.

Stellar jays are gorgeous. We used to have them in my old hometown, but I haven't seen any where I live now. Kinda sad.
