Probably, they were pretty rare anyway when they were almost at their lifecycle, only running on a few lines at the east and south of the Netherlands.

Oh of course, that's pretty normal in The Netherlands and Belgium too. Their oldest trains are currently from the early 70's, ours from the late 60's

I hope some wealthy train buff buys the retired Mat 64, and preserves her, or parks the classic train in Amsterdam and opens a cool coffee shop in it! There is something about the styling of vehicles from the '60s back that has universal appeal!!! I live in California, and mourn the demise of our retro- styled Crown coaches(old school buses built in LA 1948-91). My county had a large fleet of them until a few years ago, since replaced by cleaner- running(yet lacking any style) boxy buses!

One of these trains is at the Railway Museum of the Netherlands, it was his last stop after a last ride across the Netherlands. and I think there were plans to transform one into a restaurant but those plans didn't go through.

This image reminds me a rebel commander Nestor Makhnoh and a young Soviet Union , against which Makhno tried fight .
Makhno was a leader of peasants and farmers of Ukrain and Russia in 1914-1918th years .
He was defeated by communists .
As one soviet poet imaged Makhnoh - he was a baby of horse , which tried to fight against a train , and was destroyed by train .
Makhnoh died in Paris in 1930s .

This has to be the least expected comment I've ever gotten on a drawing of mine, but it's interesting!
