Description Most of this was done last night, when my painting class demanded one more work.

But here's my last of the set of "Old St. Paul" paintings of this semester. It's tiny (after the brewery's hugeness, I had to scale down to finish something). It's an old train, permanently in front of the old railway buildings - now converted to office buildings - in Energy Park Drive.

Does anybody know what sort of train engine this is?

Here's the Wikipedia entry: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandana_…

I may change colors and add more depth soon. I'm not entirely happy with it.

David gets this as a birthday present!

I liked the way how practically you used practically the full chromatic spectrum.
You arranged the colors in a way that harmonize perfectly.

I think it's kind of neat how the colors are blocked in, it gives a little bit of an unreal feeling to this but not too much. I like how there's hints of colors in the snow and how the reds and blues/greens stand out against each other. Love the texture you got in the sky!

Looks like it's a Lima 0-8-0 built in 1927. It probably saw service as a switch engine. It sounds like Bandana Square was in interesting project. It's too bad it didn't work out as originally planned. I wouldn't mind working somewhere with a steam engine out front though!

Wow. I'm impressed! I wouldn't have even known where to begin when looking that kind of stuff up! Thank you, very much!

I remember a small heyday when it had the Children's Museum in it - and there were many more cool things around - there was a GIANT train museum and scale model city, and more engines and cars all over. I was really small, though, so that's pretty much all I can remember. My dad's accountant also worked there, and I'd always want to come with him on his trips just so I could see the train stuff. It was weird going back and seeing the offices! It's a really beautiful place!
