Description
the view from my window during a summer storm...my system was blasting nokturnal mortum's the funeral wind born in orania, a quite intense experience...
the picture is a composite from 5 shots with 15s exposure time each...

the saturation went up, when i boosted the contrast (something i'm normally rather conservative about, but i thought this one could take it) but the hue is original (don't remember my white balance settings though)

This is simply stunning. That it is a layered comp of multiple exposures is brilliant. Really great coloring and the silhouetted landscape is just perfect.

i would have preferred to capture all in one longer exposure, but i didn't have a film for my slr and my digicam is limited in exposure time...
since you know more about film: would it even be possible to expose for, let's say 2 to 5 minutes without getting the ligtning flashes underexposed (or the background too light)? would you need a special high contrast film?

I once saw a squrriel run across a power line just to touch an exposed wire at the transformer and electrecuted himself. He went flying about 30 feet straight up and when we found him, he was stiff as a board. So I Imagine If one got him by lightning, well, there'd be more action.

That looks pretty cool.. It's times like this I wished I lived somewhere which had more lightning storms.. Even when we do get lightning, it tends to be of the sheet variety, rather than forked.

I'm right in Wellington city, these days; which is mostly harbour, and not a lot of beach. But still, it's nice having all that water near by.
