After looking at this for some time... I have no idea why it is, but it seems incredibly magical.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact it never gets that cold here. So the notion of ice covered branches is bizarre. Maybe. I can't get over how clean and fresh and oddly new it feels either, the sky is so wonderfully bright and colourful. Our winters are full of grey, over cast days... maybe that's another reason this is so awesome.

it's pretty rare here too, i think we don't get it more than once or twice a year, and mostly not as impressive as back then
and the whole forest was enchanted like this

This is a lovely theme and it's well explored. Especially the lighteffect on the tear... a small detail, maybe, but i guess that is the "punctum" - like Roland Barthes would call it - of this photograph...

This is AMAZING!

Bravo! I really like how the drop engulfs the branch.
The colours, imho, give the picture a very peaceful and relaxed, not to mention "pure" feeling, almost as if you're there... I'm listening to Black Mountain Side by Led Zeppelin, and I just love the feeling I get, combining the two.
Also, I really like the fade effect. I'm talking about how the closer branch is really clear, when the other branches, which are also engulfed with drops, are unclear, as if you're focused on that particular branch. It's possible to do the same thing using your eyesight, btw.
Plus, the detail level of the branch itself is amazing!

Thanks for the creation.

This is a favorite, for sure!

Cheers

wow.. i'm absolutely mesmerized by this picture!
I found your page through the daily deviation of the ladybug, and while that one is just technical perfection... somehow it's this picture that totally captures my heart.

I simply adore the colors ..the blue, brown, and touches of yellow in the ice. It's teh reflections of the light in the ice that really caught my attention, there's so much sparkle here and i just adore the composition.. it really creates a surreal effect for me actually. Makes me think of those 3D pictures i used to look at when i was little... there's a lot of depth here. But i think all that just creates this really magical atmosphere that makes me think of all the stories that could surround this little picture... it's like very early spring, when the snow is just starting to melt... any second now i expect to see the camera turn from these little frozen twigs and span right and down to the main character of the story. It's really incredible what this does to my head.. i think this picture is really beautiful.. absolutely great job

haha.. it does seem like it.. doesn't it? usually that kind of ranting and raving is reserved for picts of naked female ass.... but to be totally honest with you, if i was to comment on that picture again now, i would have the same exact response. Haven't you ever seen something that artistically and aesthetically just touches you in some way? Some image that somehow triggers old memories in your head and the more you look at it, the more interesting things you see in it and it just continually fascinates you? .. that's definitely what this does for me. I know it must all sound so exaggerated and ridiculous to you.. but believe me.. i simply adore this picture. I just get so excited when i find good art that seems to speak to me on some level. This really reminds me of when i was little and living in ukraine.. i remember seeing the ice melting off of tree branches like that (don't get much of that in california) and somehow this picture just makes me think of home.... While my responses sound exaggerated, they aren't... i've been coming back to this picture several times a day.... this is what good art is supposed to do for you... capture your attention and hold it. Again i say.. this is a brilliant shot and i'm just thrilled to have found it

"Haven't you ever seen something that artistically and aesthetically just touches you in some way?"

i have indeed, and i can have sleepless night about it
the first time i browsed rasterized.org (the old galleries, i don't really like the new stuff) was quite intense for example
i can freak out on music more easily, but that's different
with pictures it's quite rare and getting such a response on one of my own just hit me unexpected

nevermind

i cant really think of anyway to improve it.. really well composed.. maybe a slim black border would set it off even more..

well, the cam (sony dsc f707) is not bad, but too noisy in some situations...
