I love that thanks! May welcomes you to the future. Rafferty is based on the 1800s right?

Oh, I see. Time doesnβt really matter too much, all I know is the May and Zero live in the future and in a kinda different world?

Well itβs an earth like world, and many things are similar. Mayβs last name is Furukawa for instance. Even though my world doesnβt have a Japan. Itβs like earth with an alternate history I guess?

Something like that. They live in a country called Kelsa, which is run by a dictatorship. You gotta respect the President and stuff. May used to be a member of the Peace Guard (police force) but then she realized it just wasnβt what she signed up for, and runs away with Zero.

I really want to make a partial comic, where there would be mostly writing, but pictures like this interspersed throughout.

Oooo I can help with that if you want? Do you know around what time sheβs from and her personality?

Off the top of my head, Jae-Hwa comes to mind as a good one. It means respect/wealth (different hanja for Jae) and beauty for Hwa. I donβt know why, but I feel like it suits that personality. It sounds nice too.

I think it would be good. I think a slightly rebellious Jae-Hwa would be fun. Do you have a surname picked out? Seung is one I like.

Yes. All last names are surnames, but not all surnames are last names. In Korea, Your last name goes before your first name. Like Seung Jae-Hwa. If she is a Korean living in a western country, is would be Jae-Hwa Seung, but itβs still a surname or family name, rather than a last name.

Thatβs okay. It took me ages to settle on May, but itβs one of the most beautiful English names in my opinion. I went through Stephanie/Steph, Laura, Laney, and Delilah before I remembered May was a name that existed and I loved. I recommend searching through Wikipedia and you can find the most popular baby names for boys, girls, and unisex names, from each year. Thatβs how I named my Korean character.

Oh I can make you a name from scratch for that one. A cool thing about Japanese names is if you know someone who speaks it, you can make your own name.

Like the first half of Jesus, and then hyun is one syllable. Itβs like how cute is pronounced, but with an H.
