We are like sisters! Only a few thousand miles and an ocean seperate us!

How do you have American blood too?
Have you lived in France your whole life?

greenandyellow In reply to TanyaRW [2008-02-14 07:39:37 +0000 UTC]

Ok it works like this (story of my life chapter 1 )
My father's side of the family is all French and I've lived in Paris basically my whole life, spending sometimes a few months in the states.
On my mother's side, my grandmother is an Italian woman who met an American physicist while he was spending a year in Italy, and they fell in love and he brought her back to America with him to marry her

That is fabulously romantic! What a great story you are telling!

Where in America does your family live? Did your mother grow up in America? How did she meet your father? Do you also speak Italian?

story of my life, 3 months later...

My mother was born near Boston, went to Harvard, came to France to do her math thesis, met my father who was also a brilliant math student and tadaaaa ! I don't speak Italian though, but I have a good accent without even trying from hearing it around me often

TanyaRW In reply to greenandyellow [2008-05-09 18:12:00 +0000 UTC]

The accent is the best part!

indeed ! And Italian is such a beautiful language, I would love to learn it one day (but first, German !)

TanyaRW In reply to greenandyellow [2008-05-11 00:25:52 +0000 UTC]

Why German first?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

greenandyellow In reply to TanyaRW [2008-05-12 14:09:56 +0000 UTC]

Because it's the language I started learning at school, and I really love it. Besides, germany is a country I would really love to go to, or even maybe study in (they have great conservatories.)

I'd love to visit Germany as well....don't know much about their conservatories but I hear they have great castles!

I really like how you set this up. I think that the positioning of the various objects, the rather modest amount of light (of course, coming in from one side) and the old wooden table create striking similarities with those classic still life paintings. Nicely done!

Once again, thank you, I'm very flattered by such a comment.
As usual, this shot was a bit of luck, and a bit of annoying my family. As in : "oh, the bottle of wine and the glass look nice next to each other let me get my camera don't drink !" and then ... "maybe there is something missing, let me put the bread there too."
In the end I was lucky, the light is indeed very nice, the only problem was the bread end wich is overexposed ...
