Description
This I am submitting for the May Week Theme of the *Black-White-Club , which is Musical Instruments... Obviously I couldn't not participate !It's the result of a few experiments with my new camera, trying to get nice contrasts but not too much overexposure...
It's not a cello bridge this time, it's the bridge of the small double-bass that my little sister Mimi practices on (she's not yet 5, so she can't play on a full-size bass. Her bass is about the same size as my cello.) That and a ray of sun.

Strangely, I didin't see it announced. I am sure there will be alot of interesting entries. The lines of instruments lend themselves very well to B&W.

That's beautiful, I love it. The lighting is great. I love how you included the shadows like that. I always clean my guitar when it gets dusty underneath the strings, but the bit of dust caught in the ray of light complements the piece wonderfully somehow. I also agree with the black and white tone. It sets the mood. Brilliant angle, brilliant work.
As an afterthought, I can't believe your sister can play a full sized double bass at age 4!! That's incredible

I'm very glad you like the lighting, which was the whole purpose of this shot. I also like the way the dust catches the light in this (doesn't look like she cleans under her bridge, does it). I love shooting musical instruments, they are so inspiring, and the wood is fantastic with its different textures and contrasts and reflections.
