Description Lineart for a pic I've been working on since last night.

Solana Vakarian (Garrus' sister) pictured left
Camilla Pulex (the recon scout, as seen in Ante Up) pictured right

They served together in basic training, and Sol actually gets along really well with Cami, unlike Garrus.

Ha ha, awww how absolutely adorable!

I wonder what they're giggling about? Boys? Brothers?

Probably boys. Like, past flings.
(and possibly comparing "sizes" of certain "things"....maybe. Just maybe. haha)

Ha ha ha ... That's what I imagined.

Surely you mean fringes now, right? I have my own little theory that the length of the fringe not only signals a turian male's age but also correlates to the size of a very certain bodypart as well.

That's my headcannon, too! I use the female turian design where they have very short fringes and the males have long ones that grow as they age (reach full length at age 20ish). I could see their fringe corresponding to the size of some other interesting stuff too!

Ha ha ... I honestly only ever use that silly correlation idea for comic relief, like in the string of Garrus & Shepard parodies I'm planning. I wouldn't use it in one of the more serious stories.

Cool. I made my own female look two years ago, where the female's fringe is slightly curved upwards. I actually wanted to make it look like an old lady's parm somewhat, I don't know if old women in your country does what ours do, fake-parm their hair and roll it on plastic spools for extra volume .. but that's what I was aiming for. Weird idea I know, but I think it works.

I could see it being something that humans came up with, honestly. "Hey look at that guys spikes! He must have a small..." And then it may have stuck. I can see it working, even in serious writing because jokes like that spread like the plague.

I could see turians having a stereotype for it, too, but theirs probably wouldn't be so insulting. Maybe something like
shorter = physically stronger
longer = relies more on clever tactics

I could see that design for females working because they mention in-game that asari head-tentacles look like turian fringes. The upward curve could be very pretty.

Yeah, women do that here, too! A lot of women do it because they have straight hair and they want curly hair. We call it a "perm," which is short for "permanent wave/curl." It's funny how similar some things are, even in different countries.

Oh, of course it'd be a human thing! And I'd so like to see an ignorant turian in the shower, spotting a human male's dangling gear for the first time ever. Would he even figure out what it is? It must look so alien and so inconvenient to him. Lol, I know, right?

That's a great idea. Or maybe like with humans, the short asian peoples seem made for martial arts, there's a special quickness and nimbleness to them that caucasians simply lack.

Right ..! Hah, never thought about that! Maybe I was inspired by that, subconciously? I think it gives my girls a rather unique look in any case, but the fringe doesn't start curving until each spike has grown to a certain length, so a young turian female might be hard to distinguish from a boy. Happened with one of my chapters and I felt like a fool for not explaining that ...

Yaaay. Sorry, I wasn't sure if it was called parm or perm, blah, but that's exactly what I mean. It's just something very closely associated with old women here.

Oh, man, imagine if C-Sec had community showers. The first time Garrus ever went in with a human, he'd probably be so confused.

It makes a lot of sense that their fringes would change as they aged. I figure up until age 20 (approximately) it would be hard to tell males and females apart. It probably takes a long time for their fringes to grow.

Ha ha, and here's a funny scene for you: Executor Pallin having to teach his new turian (and other species too for that matter) recruits about human anatomy! Maybe that's why he's so grumpy, lol. I still think the human response to the lack of exterior genitals is the better one, it never fails to get me giggling.

That's exactly how I'm thinking as well. I suppose it depends on how fast the growth-rate of the fringe is. I suppose they could mature earlier than twenty too, but it seems that late twenties, like Garrus, means a fully grown fringe.

Pallin: "Now, men, I know it looks ridiculous, but please refrain from pointing, staring, or laughing at it."

Ah, that would be the best speech to listen in on. Or maybe he'd save himself the humiliation of having to say it and just send out a memo to their Omni-tools. Subject: A brief but serious reminder about conduct around human genitalia ha!

Oh lol lol lol lol ...

Yay, I BET he'd take the coward's way out and do just that, ha ha. Oh gosh, if I could only make a comic about this ... lol. I'm rather down at the moment, I could use something funny to work with for a change.

But I would so love to see his, and the others' looks, ha ha. And you know the effect of telling someone not to stare has, right? Then they'll stare like idiots because they just can't help themseleves! XD

I need to practice coloring, now! I have a color version of this, but I like my lineart more

I want to draw more lady-turians!

Aw well keep practising on all those things. You can only get better!

I'd advise checking out Skyward-Dreamer, a friend of mine. She's doing this turian-heavy comic at the moment and her colouring is simple but effective. Well worth a look.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up! That's a comic I haven't read yet! I'll have to read through it when I have time. The coloring style is very nice.

I'd recommend it, the story is good but what I find good is just how much improvement you see in the art constantly throughout as she finds her feet. Hope you enjoy and thanks again for your own work!

...I keep postponing writing a new chapter in my fanfic so I can draw, and you're not helping! ARG!
Now I have all kinds of ideas about them scoping out males in the bars.

Cami:"What about that one? We could both go after him."
Sol: "...I am not having a threesome with you and... whoever that is."
Cami: "Well, you pick someone, too! Make it a group effort!"
Sol: "..."

Nonono I shouldn't draw that! My turians always end up being so promiscuous haha

Quarian and Human males sitting on the bar -

Qel: Hey Bill, why that Turian hoties still looking on us?
Bill: I dunno, man. Maybe theyre just curious.
Qel: To what?
Bill: You know, rare dextroguy and soft human with tattoes, both waitin for alien love...
Qel: Do you wanna kill me? I was almost raped last night by that crazy Asari chicks!
Bill: I warned you. Don't buy another drinks to horny drunk Asaris.
Qel: How should i know that?
Bill: You should learn something about face expressions. I know what is 'pervy' smile when i see it. And something like that i see in cute metallic faces of two chicks, going to us right now.
Qel: *sigh* Not again...
