Description "The sons of Lorgar have long claimed for their speech the properties of fire, they say it sets the spirits of men alight. Look now, brothers, how dark their babbling truly is.

There is good in this, though. Every chance of showing the true voice of fire to those who waste it on pompous metaphors is a blessing. Charge, warriors of Vulkan. Show this filth how well their torches work against a Salamander."

Mazad Vur'Me, The Magmaborne, The Immortal Cinder, Librarian of the Salamanders

This was Mazad Vur'Me's rallying cry to 150 Salamanders on the closing stages of the Dropsite Massacre. One hour later, Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters, walked through the torrent of fire melting his warriors around him and smashed the Salamander's head with a single punch.

Mazad was perhaps the greatest Pyromancer in the Imperium for millennia, his signature fire-breath becoming legend during the Great Crusade. So great was his admiration of fire, he conjured not only warp flames, like so many other psykers, but each and every chemical component required for combustion. This enabled him to enhance his attack by mounting four small promethium flamethrowers on his helm. Legend persists to this day among the Salamanders that in one ill-going battle, Vur'Me turned the tables by burning a whole enemy platoon to a cinderous vapour.

A plasma helmet...must be drawn! This won't be forgotten, due credit to you, of course

Why thank you. Any ideas as to how you would depict it? I looked up the various WH 40k plasma weapons to get an idea as to how they work. I am currently reading up on other scifi plasma weapons described in various books I have read. I think I have worked out how it would work, but not how the apparatus would look.

Huh. Not how I pictured it, but different artists, different executions of the same concept. I look forward to seeing it.

well that depents in how angron kill him. i can imagine throw flame at him with all the power he had....and then angron just go and either:cut his head or just punch kim until he is dead. also he could be the first psyker dead by angron and start the trent of the world eater about hating psykers

Eggzactly

As to the weapon, it could've been lost throughout the millennia, destroyed by Angron or still active - just unknown and unnamed

I WILL BURN YOU WITH MY FACE!!

Lol. Nice stuff as always. Not sure about the axe in his right hand. The flame effect looks a bit more like fur and I'm not sure that being hit with a furry axe is all that scary...

LOL, well put, mate.

No better time to make use of a psychic advantage than when you're about to be mauled by thousands of traitors. And to hell with you father's edict

H8C In reply to Greyall [2012-09-14 16:40:58 +0000 UTC]

If you listen to Garro: Oath of Moment, you'll see that's not really how space marines work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Greyall In reply to H8C [2012-09-14 19:50:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh, ok, so I write these pieces of fan-fluff right after I scan the drawings, they sometimes come out with some stupid in them. But is it so unbelievable that an ex-librarian would make use of his greatest weapon in a dire moment? Many psykers have been doing that in the latest Heresy novels.

I assume some fluffish malfunction, though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

H8C In reply to Greyall [2012-09-15 08:44:32 +0000 UTC]

Don't get me wrong, I love your art, you draw awesome stuff, I just don't really think that would be possible. I don't know a lot about Vulkan and his sons, but for example an Ultramarine or a Blood Angel (I'm more certain about the former than the latter though) would rather die than break his oath to his father and the Emperor.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Greyall In reply to H8C [2012-09-15 19:16:38 +0000 UTC]

Hmm...as I said before, the latest HH novels show otherwise. Librarians use their powers in desperate situations. It has been so with the Blood Angels, for example, but also with the Dark Angels.
