Description had to get that great theatre experience out of my system. so danny boyle hasn't lost his touch for directing theatre after "slum dog millionaire" - even if several supporting roles could have been given more depth.

i saw that guy above in the "creature" part, but wasn't in the mood for drawing sutures. and i do have a feeling quite few females out there appreciate his face unblemished.

update: this drawing was up for auction supporting japan's earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown victims and will be shipped to a generous bidder in virginia, usa. a heartfelt thank you to all who participated!

disclaimer:
benedict cumberbatch belongs to himself, mary shelley's "frankenstein" is public domain since she's been dead for quite a while and this drawing is mine (at least for now). do not rip/copy/whatever without my written consent.

Im not going for the actor even tho that is a nice bonus, I just love the production and the story, its one of my fav books. But to get ticket Ive been up at the crack of dawn to get day seats.Even Benedict said I should let other ppl see it, which was embarrassing.
This is an idea maybe you could do a pic of him as the creature.

greyfin In reply to waggers124 [2011-03-19 13:05:51 +0000 UTC]

i wouldn't have told the actors you've seen the production *that* often. i can understand your motivation, knowing that even video captures of life events just AREN'T THE SAME, but out of context it appears a tiny bit stalkery. *giggle*

i was thinking of drawing the creature or at least sketchy impressions of some scenes - especially since it is the version i attended. let's see if i can find the time to do so...

waggers124 In reply to greyfin [2011-03-19 13:21:43 +0000 UTC]

he asked me how many times Ive seen it? I probably wont see the show again and Ive only met him twice, Im not a stalker and Ive seen shows like phantom, Les Mis and LNDS double the amount of time,it just like the story and the production is very clever, if the production continued after May I would still see it, no one is bigger that the show.If you do get round to doing it I look forward to seeing it.

mostly practice, i assure you. i guess you always prefer what doesn't come easily to yourself. i do envy your talent for comic and street art style. i really suck at that free abstraction thing...

DouggieDoo In reply to greyfin [2011-03-16 20:15:53 +0000 UTC]

That's ok, I really suck at it sometimes too! If this is practice, then I can't wait to see the real thing. I guess I envy your ability to capture a person in a portrait. The contrast is interesting. It feels very strong, perhaps because of the shadows, but his expression is soft and light. It's a cool balance.

the description does sound familiar. but rather from here: have a look at his work, THAT is amazing realism.
