Full Title: "Notebook Of The Travelling Top Hat Through Various Times and Spaces"(Please full view for better detail)
By way of explanation...
During our recent family losses and the long vigils involved in those dark times, my thoughts would often drift towards those dearest to me and how the fragility of one's own life, legacy and machinations of the heart suddenly had become a matter of great importance.
Likewise, the thought had also occurred to me to tinker together a special "living" notebook or journal that could be passed on to our Nika when the time was right. It would be a profusely illustrated digital stream of consciousness in the form of various artworks, postal cards and letters presented, hopefully, with liberal smatterings of whimsy- much as one finds in the more Monty Pythonesque/Douglas Adams vagaries of life.
In the finality, perhaps, it will end up as nothing more than a small gift of "sighs and murmurings" from my heart, speaking of love and life...and of no importance whatsoever to anyone save Nika and her mum. Not a bad public that!

our little Nika and her mum. Judy's clarity, laced with mercy, whilst I was mired
in the bitterness and frustration of our family's cancer horrors
helped knock some sense into me...We mourn and then we must live with renewed passion.

I understand where your heart is speaking from as I just recently lost a very dear friend in a car accident and have not yet been able to come to terms with it. Also, last night I just found out that another dear friend has stage 4 cancer. It does seem so odd in a funny way how life sometimes presents itself. In stead of feeling so terribly sad for MY loss, I keep reminding myself how terribly lucky I am to have had both these wonderfully creative and precious women touch my life in the first place.
I truly feel honored that you are keeping the love of my inner self alive as part of your journey to create a living journal of love, kindness and friendship.
You have yet once again touched my heart in a very special way. Thank you my very dear friend

Thank you very much! Glad to be home... but this trip just made me want, more than ever, to move back to Calif to be with my kids and grandkids, so my ultimate wish/dream/goal that I will continue to work for is to be back with them.
Until then, I will continue to work hard here to make my home here a good one. *smiles

fanciful dialogue between the author and his character together with various postal
cards and artwork from his escapist travels. This enigmatic treatment was in the back of my mind when
I settled on a direction for my own work...albeit with a different intent, of course. In my case, I would attempt to fly to
my heart rather than, as Bantock's book would have it, away from it.

Nika is growing by leaps and bounds and is enthralled with Steampunk now, so I thought it
a good starting point for the notebook's "cover"...Both old and new in the same breath. When she
sees it eventually, I am hoping it will bring back memories of good times to her and her Mum.
