Description 45 minute concept art for a game we're hopefully going to develop at college.

It will be the ultimate enemy in the dark and horrific dungeons of the game; unstoppable by the weapons the main character has at hand, and hungering for the life of the protagonist.
This creature from hell is supposed to be the only thing you cannot stop or even slow down. So when the overlord appears; you have to run.

Inspiraction comes from
-Guillermo Tel Torro (the guy responsible for the creatures in Pans Labyrinth and Hellboy),
-Tsutomu Nihei (Blame!, Biomega, and other Manga)
-and some enemies of the Game Hellgate London

so thanks to everyone who was involved

I love original monster design!

Horror is, in my opinion, one of the highest artforms.
Sure, you got the usual crap. Saw 12. Jaws part 25: Bride of the Shark, etc. But then you get the occasional track, game, or flick that just innovates everything and blows your mind and keeps you awake at night, occasionally crawling out of bed to flick on the light, check under your bed and all the nooks and cranny's of your closet, and lock your doors at night, sleep with a knife under your pillow. Crafting true horror takes skill.

But I digress, somewhat. True Horrific images dig right into the psyche and our deepest fears.

This.... thing of yours, is quite excellent. And I've now got a wiki page open on every one of your inspirations, and will read into them at depth.

Believe it or not, I'm a published horror fiction writer, among other things, good work

Thank you very much for your comment and the appreciation within it, I am glad you like the creation.
It is also a good thing that youre willing to research the origin of the inspirations I had for this ... creature/being, since researtch IS one of the best ways to learn and, of course, be inspired.
So I have to say it makes me smile a little, that I've triggered you to dig into a few new things

On the other hand I sadly have to admit that the pitching of our horror-game was declined and, the game will not be made. Therefore its unlikely that the Overlord will ever roam a digital place, at least not anytime soon. Of course maybe I'll continue making it a private project to recreate it as a 3D model, but thats a different story.

Maybe you can even grab inspiration from this piece of my work and who knows... maybe an idea will pop up in your head and you will write it down. If so, I'd be glad if you let me know

Oh and by the way; I'd prefer a gun over a knife... personally. Keeping a distance from whatever harmful thing there might lurk in the dark.

Again; thank you for your comment and favourite

I'd prefer a pipewrench over a knife. The weight of the average pipewrench does the work for you.

Anywho, I've explored "chasers" (as I call them) quite a bit. The immortal things which keep you on your toes and above that feeling that your safe as long as you have a big enough weapon. I just never saw one that looks scary without being ridiculously huge or something. I found it neat that this thing is relatively small and thin. It's more traditional in the way it creates fear. Like the Scissorman from the original Clocktower from the SNES. One scary ass game, by the way.

Very Scary. Especially for something that runs maybe 10FPS on a good day. Something about the fact that there's no weapons in the entire game just makes me shit my pants a little harder whenever the scissorman shows up. Still haven't steeled my nerves enough to beat it. Ah well. There's always youtube.

Your character looks like it could be a dark goblin from the movie 'Labyrinth'. He could be a guard or lord of something. I guess not all the Labyrinth is kind and cuddley like in the movie. Really nice.
