Final entry to the Surreal Arts and Avalon Community Contest...
Interpretation:
This work is based on the cosmologic origin theory of man illustrated in local Filipino folklore,about the emergence of Malakas(Adam) and Maganda(Eve)...
Si malakas at si maganda theory, symbolically depicts two distinct figural tower like structures that seem to spit out male(on the left side) and female(on the right side) archetypes of figures symbolising the birth of the NEW ADAM AND EVE...set in a stark landscape and lined with mysterious linearistic entities that symbolises Gravitational curves in Space-time as stated in the theory of Einstein called the Theory of General Relativity, or gravitation(as stated therewith, that gravity is a curve in space time continuum,read more about the topic if you want to probe deeper). I depicted the female archetypal as a vegetative form slithering out of her vegitative mother(Gaea-Earth), to symbolise feminine vulnurebility, as vegitative and organic...the Male Archetypic figure on the other hand was peeking out of a metalic, mechanic, cybergenic father(Chronus-Time),symbolising Man's inherent logical, mechanico-tactical traits....but unlike normal creation theories, i emphasized the rip at space-time curve caused by the eruption of new life(in the center) that signaled the Birth of the New Man and woman, Enligthened by Science, but still attached to their paternal and maternal ancestry...
