Description The first time I did a piece like this was for Japan...this hits much closer to home. A couple of hundred people have perished in Alabama two days ago, the victim of a huge outbreak of tornadoes that this nation hasn't seen in nearly 40 years. I have spent a lot of time in Alabama. One of my family's favorite eating joints is in the Birmingham area, which was very badly hit. I thought that this time I would throw in Amy's Daughter, Annie Kroker, and Bender, and I went back to my childhood love of auto racing for this picture. My heart goes out to the many people who have suffered and lost their homes, and possibly their loved ones in this terrible tragedy. Not only in Alabama, but throughout the South. My heart is with you. And like the thoroughbred car in this picture, you will rise again.

HUZZZAA! Nice Futurama And Nascar Combo...though it doesnt make logical sense since Nascar Sprint cup cars will look diffirent in the year 3000.

This is true, although what I wanted to do was use a symbol of strength...I didn't want to have a character blubbering or something. I'm not a huge race fan, but I did actually do a security detail for Ernie Ervin when he was here for the first Brickyard 400. I also like the image because driving a car like that would be something Little Annie would actually do. Ain't she cute in that outfit?

Thanks! Alabama was the first place that I ever had grits...just over the border in Athens. It's got many nicknames...unfortunately one of these is "the battleground of the fronts" because cold dry air from Canada battles with hot, moist air from the Gulf...the result is what happened there last week with the tornadoes. "Sweet Home Alabama" was a big hit on the radio when I was a 6th grader living in Arizona; we used to hear it on the bus going to school all the time.
