"Thank you both for guiding me out here , Miss MOMO, Miss Sophie," Ayu smiled as she held hands with the two sisters while they led her along in the search for Mazda out in the forest.
"It's our pleasure," Sophie replied. "Any friend of Mazda is a friend of ours."
"And you helped me make a second new friend today too," MOMO reached up to pet Chimu, still perched atop her head.
"Chiii~" the rabbit cooed.
"Though I wonder why Mom never told me about Mr. Dyne or any of his daughters," Ayu wondered out loud, "My meeting Mazda could almost be called a happy accident."
MOMO and Sophie looked up at each other for a moment before mutually nodding.
"I'm afraid we don't know either, Ayu-chan," MOMO stated, "You'll have to ask you Mom or Daddy directly.
"I guess you're right," Ayu sighed. "You both know him much better but you probably can't read his mind- oh, I hear voices straight ahead.
"That should be them," Sophie assured her.

A little further ahead-

"You're certain you dismantled all of your traps from the other day, Little Hon? " Dyne asked as he and Alexus walked along, each of them holding one of Mazda's hands while they patrolled the forest.
"Pretty sure I did, Daddy," Mazda flashed a confident grin. "I usually remember to place markers that I'd recognize so I know where they are and there aren't any around."
"Leave it to Sephira to fall into one so quickly, though," Alexus grinned herself, only more fiendishly.
"Lex, are you still sore about us beating you the other day ?" Dyne shot her a flat look, causing her to only stick her tongue out at him.
"Mazda~!" a voice of someone her age called out from behind.
"Ayu, hi!" Mazda turned and waved as Ayu and her escorts caught up with them, not caring that she wouldn't be able to actually see the physically greeting, "I didn't think you'd come over today."
"Mom got called in on a mission and told me she'd be late," Ayu explained as she walked closer. "I hope I'm not imposing."
"Not at all!" Mazda quickly assured her. "It'd stink if you were waiting all by yourself until she got home."
"And we did say you're welcome any time," Dyne followed up.
"Good afternoon to you, Mr. Dyne and- if I heard correctly- Miss Alexus, right?" Ayu took a moment to bow.
"Yeah, it's me," Alexus confirmed.
"Thanks for guiding her out here, Sophie, MOMO," Dyne nodded at the older girls, who nodded back.
"We'll take it from here," Mazda let go of Dyne's hand to take one of Ayu's in helping take over guiding her, "Ayu, you can also hold hands with Daddy. We're just walking through the forest making sure it's still clean in places."
"That's a good idea," MOMO grinned as she saw the setup fall into place as Ayu allowed Dyne to take her free hand.
"Daddy, I think Ayu-chan wanted to talk to you too," Sophie's expression mimicked MOMO's, "About your relationship with Miss Alondra."
"If you don't mind, Mr. Dyne," Ayu turned her head in his direction. "Please tell me how you came to meet my Mom and your relationship with her. She had told me you were acquainted, but not that you were dating until Mazda and I met."
"Aahh..." Dyne reached back to scratch his head and only laughed nervously, completely unsure of how to respond while the two older daughters took great delight in watching him squirm.
"Hey!" Alexus spoke up, "It's rude for a guy to talk about another woman when he's already out on a date, you know."
"Mommy, are you jealous?" Mazda asked.
"Of course I a-aaaahhhhh!" Alexus found herself interrupted as she tried to step forward only to find her ankles ensnared and her body lifted from the ground, leaving her hanging upside-down.
"Oops!" Mazda's nervous chuckle matched her daddy's as she also scratched the back of her head. "I guess I forgot to mark that one because I didn't get the chance to before Chimu came and got me. Sorry, Mommy..."
"Maaaaazzzzddddaaaaa...!" she whined more than anything else.
"I'll get you down," Mazda assured her, "That will give Daddy and Ayu time to talk, too." Mazda let go of Ayu's hand and began working on dismantling the trap.

"Are you okay, Mr. Dyne?" Ayu asked. "Your palm feels very sweaty since I asked that."
"Well, Ayu-chan, it's a little hard to explain," Dyne didn't feel reassured at all with MOMO and Sophie still relishing in the situation. "Though I guess the first thing to ask is what has Alondra told you about me?"
"She said you help her out in ways other people can't and help her relax after a stressful mission," Ayu answered. "But she never told me how you met."
"I guess the most simple way to put it is I caught her spying on the area one day and I defeated her in battle. She wasn't hired by anyone but had noticed the increasing activity going on over here as more people began arriving. Since she's such a skilled kunoichi and almost never loses, that actually earned her respect; especially after I didn't do anything to harm her when I had her at my mercy."
"That's pretty amazing if you were able to beat Mom," Ayu admitted, "I'm glad she didn't try to get revenge. But, now that I think about it, a loss only makes her train harder so it doesn't happen again."
"I did invite her to visit again after explaining everything going on around here. And, long story short, she continued to visit, we continued to talk, and we grew closer."
"She also told me you call yourself a villain, but I can tell you're not a bad guy after hearing her talk about you and what you just said," Ayu smiled.
"I'm just sorry we kept it from you for so long," he sighed, "She did tell me about adopting you but we didn't want to feel like we were adding any further pressure onto you while you got settled in. Ultimately, we were just trying to run away from it and had no choice when you came looking for her the other day and Mazda found you."
"I can forgive you. Everyone here's been so nice to me and none of you look down on me because I'm blind."
"Thanks, Ayu-chan. We'll have to talk a bit more about all this with Alondra, too."
"I'd like that," Ayu nodded, "Especially if you and Mom keep seeing each other. She wouldn't want to marry a man who I wouldn't approve of too."
That last statement caused Sophie and MOMO to cover their mouths as they tried to stifle some happy laughter at the situation.
"Yeah... we'll have to talk about that too..."
"Don't worry about it too hard right now," MOMO spoke to both of them.
"Things will fall into place as they happen," Sophie added.
"And Daddy can teach you a lot of things in the meantime," Mazda, who had finished getting Alexus down and back on her feet, chimed in. "But, even if he doesn't stay with Miss Alondra, that doesn't mean we'll stop being friends."
"Thank you, Mazda," Ayu smiled again as she felt Mazda take her hand again.
"Hey, I'm still here too, you know," Alexus ruffled Mazda's hair.
"Of course!" Mazda beamed. "Mommy's still in my Top 3 favorite people with Big Sis Sephira and Ayu!"
"This is why I can never get mad at you," Alexus took Mazda's free hand again. "Though who's #1?"
"That's my secret," Mazda grinned.
"Aww, come on, you can tell your Mom."
"Still a secret," Mazda retorted as she squeezed both of the hands in her own. "Come on, everyone, there's still a bit more to check before we have to go in. Can Ayu stay for dinner?"
"Of course, Little Hon," Dyne responded as he helped Ayu fall into step with the leader of their little group, but not before looking back and reaching out to Sophie and MOMO to invite them along too, which they promptly did.
"After all," he spoke up again, "She can already be considered part of the family."
"Chimu too?" Ayu asked.
"Chimu too," he answered.
Ayu smiled to herself as she walked along and continued to learn more about her friend's family and soon began to feel like she was no longer imposing on them by being there.
